So with all the hubbub about the 2 supposedly fastest boats at GL this year, who's in the running for third place? You guys have been tweaking on these boats for a year now, any new runners out there?

I hear Steve's got his inline six all tricked out now and will be joining the races this year so you better watch out for that sleeper.

Roger, I sent you an email.

Yeah, you'll definitely want to do some practice runs, we are professional drinkers here in the Midwest

I wish I was tweaking, I am planning to finally install the engine tonight. Benjamin has a fast hull and a big block, if he didn't screw anything up he may be in the top speed hunt and sleeping for free. Of course I would like to tweak my slow hulled 83 to hit 60 once before it is retired to a life of pulling at wakeboard and foiling speeds while I work on building a fast boat.. but I don't think it is a possible contender for the overall prize. Reid was working on a couple boats that should have top speed potential, ie fast hulls with fast motors.. but he has a few things going on with the businesses who knows if those boats will be floating in time... Sounds like brother Bragg has his boat back together, not the fastest hull ever made but a whole lot of cubes might cure that. That blue and white 81 is never to be trifled with, not much info from that camp either... Who else is out there and sandbagging... billy says he isnt coming up this year.. maybe Steve Evans will put a real prop on his python powered boat and make run at it...

I'm all set fly into Chicago on 15th @ 10.15am the only bad thing is I have to leave on the 18th @ 5.05pm to be back in the UK am on the 19th due to my eldest daughter has here university graduation that day @ 3pm, there are 2 later flights but just can't take the risk of a flight delay, and to cap it off will have to take the ex wife with me in the car.

Kristof, looks like I will be hiring a car too, can you mail the full address of Lakeside Motel and phone number as I need it to complete my air tickets.

Gary,
Thanks for posting the update. Were you making or cancelling a reservation?

I just got off the phone with Bill and he was able to shift my reservation from a room with a single king bed to a room with two doubles. Charlie and Mark, It's my turn to check out the broken springs in the roll in bed!

Just got off the phone with Roger.
Due to the fact that he has to go back on the 18th, we'll both rent a car. But we'll meet at the airport and drive together to GL. So we'll have a mini convoy

Only four and a half weeks to go!

BTW Roger, I put your name on "The Cookout List"

Joe, I'll lay it all on the line right now. The 81 seems to be at least temporarily stuck at 55 flat. If Acme gets my new prop done by GL I may be a contender for 3rd place otherwise I'm going home with my tail between my legs again.

The cutoff for badges and inclusion in the boat ballot will be July 1. With that said, we always accept late registrations.

EVENT UPDATE:
We'll have a new 2011 Ski Nautique 200 at this year's Midwest Reunion courtesy of Lauderdale Lakes Marina!

Hopefully, more updates to come!

Sorry to disappoint Joe, my hull is slow and unless I can find a way to get the rev limiter changed between now and then, she is stuck at 54-55. But on a better note I will be needing some people for extra weight for the speed run.
