What does your engine tag say? It should have a model number listed.

So confirmation that this is a right hand rotation and I need the following parts (fyi took out the starter and it was filled of gunk/water)?

I have to return the wrong rotation ones to Nautique.

ProTec Ignition Swap

There is no wiring diagram for your spark plug wires. The rotor points at the post of the cylinder on the compression stroke and you follow the wires along with the order.

You should be able to definitively trace those wires to the NSS (by the color you sound correct) and then use the typical 70s/80s wiring diagram TRBenj drew up.

Why are you getting a new carburetor?

Get some one that knows how to install it to help you. Will need timing light also. Easy once you have done it a few times but very frustrating if you have not.

Depending on how well versed you are with engine electrics, think about the basics. Here's Tim's wiring diagram that should help:

Saw this thread but am looking for a diagram of the distributor cap top with what plugs go to each cylinder.

Just by looking at your old gear, you can confirm it is a reverse rotation engine.

So, yes your engine is reverse rotation.

Do a search here on CCF about distributor installation, do a lot of reading and you'll probably understand how to install it and get the firing order right.

But after the reading, if you have questions, ask away and you'll get help here

That would be the right one and you wouldn't have to worry about doing gear swaps that can sometimes be not terribly straightforward

From the other current thread with the same issue:

That opens the door to more choices like a Pertronix or MSD marine distributor

You could send a PM to "Duane in Indy" who is a retired machinist and ask if he'd do it for you. It wouldn't be the first time he's done this for somebody on the forum

Here is the picture before I took the Protec out, can it be confirm the rotation from here?
Also, does someone have a diagram of which plugs go into the distributor from what cylinders?

FYI, my motor was not starting at all

The distributor is the same. All that's needed is the gear and then a R&R on the gear.

Read this old thread about which direction your engine might or might not rotate
old thread
it'll probably confuse you but you have a distributor for a LH rotation engine going by what you posted from White Lake Marine and your engine might be RH rotation as you can see from the link above

The best thing you can do is see if your new distributor gear and old one match or if the teeth are cut in opposite directions.

LH teeth look like ///////    RH teeth are the opposite \\\\\\

If they're different, you'll need a distributor gear for a RH engine, if they're the same it looks like you're just having trouble getting the gears to mesh

Look at this       old thread

It may help, it may confuse you more

You can also look at the Discount Inboard Marine website and check out item #41015 which is the conversion kit they sell and there is a wiring diagram better than their hand drawn one in the link above.

This all assumes you now have a Mallory electronic distributor like the one in their kit If not, it would be good to know what you have for a distributor and if you have the whole kit
