Man! you guys have it easy... I am sitting here looking at my rower, which happens to be mocking me...again. This thing keeps me in great shape but it hurts like hell if I take a month or two off. I like to get my sons muscle head football buddies on it and wager them a 10 minute pull on setting 4. Not one can do it...
#1 son is also pushing me to train for the Miami Spartan race. I saw the videos and am not so sure its a good idea. A dude of my advanced years could get seriously wrecked at that thing!

Anybody here do Spartan races or tough mudders?

I am lucky if I run away from donuts! Ha....

But I do love the rower.... I have a water rower, great feel and it is a great overall torture. Plus, this time of year you can find them cheap on Craigslist.... rusty New Year's resolutions. That's how I got the Nordic Track, Water Rower and recently the Elliptical. I have found that my schedule won't fit in a gym membership... so I buy old stuff and fix it up (Hmm, sounds familiar).

Do whatever it takes...... start with Greg's challenge, then Hollywood's Lite Beer Challenge... work toward whatever makes you feel better, healthy and strong.

Heck I may need to get on Kristin's erg (rower) but admittingly afraid of the Kristin's roaring laughter at how poor my performance would be. Day one of the challenge down - will be interesting to see how the challenge combined with the exercise and better food choices work out.

I don't think I know of anyone that I was say was "close" to Duluth, everybody is at least a 2 hour drive... Sorry.

I know many will disagree, but light beer? I just don't see the point. Having said that, if I am not going to have two, I probably shouldn't have one...

somehow running 3-5 miles 4 times a week did not cut it anymore and the lbs stuck.
so 2 1/2 weeks ago I started a HIIT training (freeletics)... man I sure hope all the pain pays off in the end.
nice thing is, I managed to motivate my wife to join the fun 3 time per week. I do freeletics 4 times a week and run on 2 days now. its just bodyweight movements but hard
saturday was brutal 50 burpees, squats, situps, then 40, 30,20,10...no break as fat as you can...

If you guys do not have a Fitbit synced up with my fitness pal you should give it a try.

Just skied 2 sets yesterday in Orlando after 12 weeks off. Only the very slightest bit sore. Pre-crossfit era I would have been essentially crippled for days with soreness. This 'ish works.

off to a gym called KoKo Fit Club. Its a digital gym and you work on one machine the whole time. It has helped my skiing strength a ton. We love it so much the wife now works there.

Koko Fit

That being said, add me to the 45+ gained too much weight and trying to lose it club.

Murph,
Easier every day. Snacks after 8pm are the toughest. Sue and Kristin are supportive but like to poke fun with how about a chocolate cover rice cake - oh wait the 21 day challenge....how about this - oh wait......
We are having fun with the fit its which have evolved into a slight competition (at least for me). I have a hard time letting Kristin win the daily challenge - last Sunday I really kicked some 22 year old but and when I stood up to get off the plane on Monday I nearly fell over- lol
It is all in good fun and collectively we have lost > 30#'s. Pants are hanging, belt has gone back a notch, heck I may need to pick up a new ski if this keeps up

For the past couple of weeks, my workout routine has consisted of shoveling snow. Lots and lots of snow.

Only evidence I've seen is the girlfriend running the snow blower while Brian is inside taking video of her...Just sayin'!

Hahaha Tim. If I can only find a snowblower with fuel injection, and on board battery start, I should be able to stay in my pajamas all day drinking Coors Lights during the next storm

First goal of 200Lbs hit today from 214, feel great but that took longer than I thought it would. Seems last time I really needed to lose weight it just fell off me once I got on a diet.   Must be the age thing and getting the metabolism kick started took a little extra work. This time I'm dieting and working out and it's been pretty stubborn but I think I'm on my way.

Next stop is 190, maybe end of March. I have a vacation planned in the middle there so it's going to be hard to not slip up a little bit.

Congrats to all acheiving their goals It must be this site that I have decided to get back to the gym to prep for this year after reading through this thread. Kids are finally at the age were they are becoming little individual people which in result making the wife a happier camper when I am not home. I started the Fuel Cross-Fit Training Saturday and boy it's going to be a rough one since I have not worked out in 6 years or so . Going to be an adventure. Good luck to all.....
