Smith family light just took the Fox Den.
Alligator (Big) and Bear (Small no kitchen) left open. Also camp sites. Confirmed that the restaurant CLOSED 8 months ago, and yes, there is a fishing group in. (An "older age group" I was told?) ALSO, slips are first come first served ($5) BUT, she said those that arrive early can grab more than one and get reimbursed by the taker? Someone want to secure one for the SmithFamily? Tim? |

Yeah, okay we get it...... You wanna hang with the guys ONLY if we come to YOUR place. Just come out and say it. Man up! Only 3 cabins left...Aliigator, Fox and Bear( which is tiny and no full kitchen) I'm in Otter Den. Yes, there is a Fishing Club there snatching up our cabins so get of the Row Boat and book a cabin. Alligator is the big one on the water and has three bedrooms and a forth with bunks in it for a short person. The Ruckus will be here before you know it so ya better start waxing the boat now and getting it prepped for a long weekend of fun. Looking forward to it Y'all! |

Finally got through to Parramore's after numerous attempts. Farmer's (76 Ski Nautique) are booked in the Bream Beds and the Franklin's (Bay Craft "Correct Craft for the weerkend") in Osprey. Very little cabins still available. Possibly another fishing club there a the same time per Parramore's staff?? Book now to secure your cabin or rv space.

Hey all, just a heads up, Castaways (across from Blackwater Inn) moved off the river and opened up a new restaurant just a couple miles west of the bridge on 40. I ate there a few weeks ago for dinner on the way to Daytona and the food was amazing. The new place is really big and could accommodate a large group.
I almost stopped in to Buck & Kat's but glad I didn't as the bartender at Castaways said it had closed, so not sure if you'll have a restaurant on site this year. Hope you all have a great time and are safe. Miss my Nautiques! My BFN popped up on my memory wall on FB this morning and I almost shed a tear. |

Does anyone remember the name of the lock where we launch and the name/number of the road where we turn off of HIghway 40? Phyllis lives west of there, so no sense her driving to Astor to go with us; she can meet us at the launch site.

Jerry, I'm gonna say 9:00 am departure time as most will need to fuel up and ice up the boats. It's about a 45 min ride to the ramp and then we still gotta launch a dozen or so boats. Once every is on the water it's about a hour ride down river, through a lake down river to the lock, down river more through another lake to the Dora Canal. There are two marinas along the river to fuel up, ice up, and potty break for those who need too.
Return trip will be based on what time the Lock closes and when everyone is ready to head back. |

Amanda and I are in this year. I don't know yet if I'll be tugging the San Juan down yet or not. Depends on my work progress on it by then.

Hey Guys.....I talked to Woody for a bit who me gave some inside scoop and said that I needed to give Terry Fiest a call (who is the head honcho for the show). Touched base with Terry about the CCFan guys were planning on coming down to the show by water on Friday. He was tickled that we were coming and that he would have a place roped off for us to moor boats. The Hurricane took care of all the docks and that the show must go on but was gonna be a land based this year. Plenty of boats, but just on their trailers this year. He also said that he'd cut a deal with us since we were coming . Let him know how many boats were coming and how many people we had and he would provide us all with an arm band at $5 instead of the $10 gate price. I just need to give him a head/boat count about a week before the show. He said we love having all you guys come down because we we such a fun group of people. Told him that we appreciated it, we enjoy the trip and the show and we'll be there!
So........ that being said. Y'all start making you plans to be at Parramores by Thursday night so the Correct Craft Armada can make its way down River to a Woody Boat show on Friday. Safe to say I'm not the only one who is tired of Old Man Winters grip on this cold weather. Enough already! |

From what I hear they will not be ready in time but they have an alternate plan for the show which they have not revealed just yet. Maybe that just means they're trying to figure out what to do! |

Here's some Stokes Marine manifolds that would be at least period correct:

Sounds like you've got some digging to do. Hopefully it's a gasket or something simple to fix. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Chris, it's a Y-Block and nothing else fits it. It would spoil its entire personality to put a current engine in it. |

Here's the story in brief: I had run it at home prior to leaving for the Masters. It ran "just OK". A bit rough, but I figured as usual, run a piece of sandpaper through the points and it will be fine. The day of the opening ceremony, I decided to test it before anyone else was there. It ran worse and worse over the span of maybe 10 minutes, so I decided to park it and hope it would make it through the show. I was able to nurse it through the show, but had to idle it at about 1800 to keep it running. Those in the audience that are boat smart knew that something was big-time wrong. After the show I started pulling spark plugs and all 4 cylinders on the 1 thru 4 side had a lot of water in them. The first thing on my list is to pull the exhaust manifold on that side and test it. After that, it could be anything from a head gasket to a hole rusted through a cylinder wall or the head, which would prompt a leakdown test. It could end up that I will be in the market for a RH rotation 292 or 312. Pete is correct that those manifolds are nearly impossible to find, and there are no alternatives in current production. |
