[QUOTE=Orlando76]

Kind of off topic, but I remember someone had posted this pic before. From the 84 brochure, but they put a sneak peak of the new 85 2001 before it was released in the background.....cool idea and cool shot.

I'm looking forward to following the progress of this as well.

Does that mean he could sell it for $200k or trade it in for a G25? Gosh boats are to expensive these days .

my devious plan has been rumbled......

Keep the bass nautique and make it into a a barefoot bass nautique. Put 3 big ol' outboard motors on it and just foot the world with it . I'm kidding, please don't do that.

Well I belive at some points there can be to much power. For example, a big ol' 502 python in a ski tique..... that's called over kill..... but it would be fun

SN pythons are definitely not overkill... I'd call it a "good start".

I always thought it would be fun, given infintie money, to outfit one of the older Ski Tique's or a wreck of a Gen 1 Ski Nautique with one of those Supercharged XS550's. Now that would be some fun...

....and a GT-40 in a 63 classic is a crazy idea too but MAN what a fun boat to drive!

I had a ProCraft FSN before I bought the 88' so I can appreciate a good fishin' boat but there were more times that I could think of that I REALLY need to be cutting up this glass on a ski then cutting it with a lure and some line. If I were gonna get back into fishing again I'd look for a Bass Nauti just for the coolness factor. Looking forward to seeing a Sishin' Boat restore.

Tim misread. A tique with a 502 might be overkill, but a SN with a 502 is a good start. And yeah the 63 classic is a fun drive/ride! Tim's bfn borders on overkill, until you go for a ride in it, then it's a life saver. LPSL :)

Something like this should make it the fastest boat on CCF. My friend up the road who has been racing outboards for +40 years claims they'll easily handle a 200 shot of nitrous incase you need a little more holeshot.

I don't think I have ever seen a floor that bad. You definitely have your work cut out for you... Clearly it has been outside for quite some time. I wonder if it actually had filled up with water and was essentially submerged (in itself). That poor boat has had some serious neglect.

On the port side stern, I would guess they cut out all the decking there to remove the fuel tank. I don't have any idea why a fuel tank would be so valueable, but it was apparently needed very badly.

Can't wait to see what that motor holds. There are only about 4 million of those things produced, so you should be able to find used parts really cheap. Honestly if the compression is shot you might just look at finding a rebuilt power head, or even a used one. I think power heads can be found, if you look hard for $1000, readily available for $1500, so maybe even cheaper.

Great stuff so far!

Definitely doesn't look like typical cc construction... I wonder if someone else built it or them?

Cool project!

For some reason I seem to recall these were a partnership/white label deal with another mfg. ICBW.

I've heard that about a few '80's model (Martinique/Riviera) that Regal actually built them. Maybe Rumor. Maybe it was the Bass.

I have always had a fascination with these Bass Nautique, I talked to Art about them, he indicated that they were indeed originally made from another manufacturer - a company called Logan's Run. The owner, as he was going out of business, came to Correct Craft and told them, he only trusted them to continue building the quality boats that he had built. So they bought a mold and then hired him as a consultant. As they started production and attended the first couple of boat shows, they found other manufactures with the same hull. Turns out the owner had told them the same story and sold them molds as well.. Needless to say his consulting services were no longer needed.

EDIT: When sold as the Bass Nautique, they were indeed made by Correct Craft at the Correct Craft factory. So I would imagine because the hull is SO radically different, there was a variation in the "normal" manufacturing process. I do see some"tells" of Correct Craft manufacturing...

I'll feel much better once all the foam is out.......started on that project today.....only managed to scrape out 1 row between the stringers....Foam was drenched in water.
I knew this was going to be a huge project but I am still happy with it, the glass and woodwork side of it doesn't bother me, just taking my time and doing it right.
More pics and videos to come....

A pick and a square shovel are you're friends. The flat side of the pick will remove large chunks of foam with little effort and the shovel is handy for scraping off that last half inch or so of foam left behind.

Well.........7 months later and I am again able to work on the boat......Had to delay the whole project, work slowed down and so money got tight .
But, back on it again, stringers are out and the foam is gone (what a PIA that was......I found a machete worked wonders, slide it under the foam and pull out and up, huge chunks came out).
Here's a link to what I have now....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDjbupqfQiA
