I'm confused, isn't there some generally accepted way of selling your boat on CCF, like an ad in the For Sale section, along with the 1 percent donation to the website after the sale?

I also hope you get that price. Raises the value of mine, same boat but with 200 hours on it.
I know you put a lot of work into putting that boat on the water, crying shame it did not get used more.

Beautiful boat. I love the look of the slant-back (NWZ) hull. I really hope you can get the $35K you are asking. My sense is that it may be significantly less than that. Best of luck.

It has been some time since I finished this project. I haven't used it in several years and have decided to let it go. It has 12 hours on it and is sitting on a new tandem axle Load Master trailer. This boat looks show room new. Taking offers over $35,000.00

Any word on total cost to put this 1995 brand new boat on the water again?
It is a really cool story. |

In 99' I paid $2300 for a brand new Eagle single axle with the extended side steps, spare mount and tire, chrome wheels & surge brakes. The above does not have any of those options and is 3 feet shorter. Brand new was probably +/- $1500. Although it looks to be in great shape hard to justify $1000 for a 20 yr old trailer with no brakes.

Vintage in terms of age but it looks brand new condition much like the 20 year old hull! $1,000 is mighty low IMO

Depends upon condition. I sold a trailer of this vintage for $1,000 a few years ago and it sold pretty quickly. But - the 176 is sort of a specialty machine. You might have to go a bit lower for it to move?
This is still one of my favorite stories on this site. Maybe only behind the first SN tale. |

Boat is running great, I am up to 11 hours on boat and have my daughter slalom skiing. I would like to sell the trailer that the boat is sitting on, a 1997 Eagle Spirit trailer built for a SN 176. In need of a trailer for 196 SN. Can somebody give me a good asking price for the trailer. Derek

Derek sent me some eye-candy to post here. I emailed him back to let him know we need some on-the-water pictures! This is still such an interesting story and a real thrill to see this brand new 20 year old boat project. Congratulations, Derek! -Kevin

1-1/4" I.D. hose fits over 1" pipe. 1" hose fits over 3/4" pipe. Remember that common pipe goes by the nominal inside diameter.

I agree!! I've posted twice what hose will fit over what pipe size plus using reducing elbows at the pick up. Maybe you have a friend who's a plumber!!!! |

The easiest place to change the hose size is through the water strainer. Put a 1" NPT X 1-1/4" hose barb in the inlet side and a 1" NPT X 1" 90 degree hose barb in the outlet side, and you've got it.

Post a picture of what you're working with. Either you have a non-standard setup or you're over complicating things.

You can't get a 1" pick up? 1.25" was typical of Escort and Commander.

The cooler is fine, 1" in and 1" out normal. It is the pick up crate that is 1 1/4" and nobody has given me a picture or a good explanation on how to reduce the pickup grate size from 1 1/4" to a 1". So i was going to use a 1 1/4" hose from the pickup grate up to the inlet side of the strainer.

Certain year Shamrocks had that goofy cooler too. Many of them used PCM's also but I don't know if the 2 were together or if it was another brand engine
