Brian, The photobucket opens to a "page not found". You have said that you installed the 502. If you did it yourself, I sure hope your mechanical skills aren't anything like your grammar or computer skills!!

So how many RMPS is the 14x14 turning at WOT? I can see where a 13x13 would bring the RPMS up quick. Here some tips on posting pics.

Is that 502 a roller motor?

Are you still visiting us. I hope you didn't think that my questions were a joke. I was hoping for some more info about the prop, I forgot to ask three blade or four blade? Who makes the prop?

CQ: Thanks. Sieple looks to be getting a little gray around the edges. Used to see him at the Mid-America Boat Show in Cleveland.
BTW: Had a compu crash awhile ago and lost your phone number...would you mind e-mailing it to me?

I didnt really know, with numbers that close to each other it would be kinda stupid to design a new block and cast it and re-fit everything else

The 496 and 502 dont share the same block, do they?

I asked our head of maintenance at the plant who races a 496. He said yes, it was the first stroking/boring of the 454. The 502 was the next step with some minor bore changes.

Thats what I always assumed. I was told not too long ago by someone that seemed to know a BBC's pretty well that they were different. It seems I got bad info.

What brand prop is it, are you saying the 14x16 was slower out of the hole but faster at top end?

I like the colors on the boat, what prop are you currently running on it? Why such a loss in speed with the addition of weight? Are the speeds you posted GPS or speedo?

Ken
Thanks for the posting the pic, it's always a proud day for a boat owner when you put your ride through a serious work out and it preforms well.

Wow, 502 in the BFN! That thing must be able to tow a battleship. I know James' BFN with the 454 with seven people in it pulled very strong. Not to mention the gallons of water coming over the side when that boom was low. James, we couldn't slow you boat down if we tried. That left a long lasting impression on me.

The million dollar question, could this boat pull 4, 5, or maybe 6 guys out, deep water start? I would guess that it have more than enough balls to yank many footers right out of the whole. Very cool boat, love the colors too.
