it has the stock 12 x 14. i put a standard rotation engine in because the po let the 305 freeze with lake water in it, now i need a standard rotation prop that i wont have to pay and arm and a leg for.

Bobby, My understanding of dia. to pitch is that 1 inch larger in dia. equates to about 2 inches of increased pitch. This puts the 13x10.5 in the range equal to a 12x12.5 so you may be under proped. You will need to watch your top end rpm's. The other problem is that although the 13 inch may fit, the closness of it to the hull may reduce it's efficiency. Close to hull props have also been know to cause hull rash. It's when the gel coat is actually eroded from the water. This is a picture from another post showing the hull rash.

Are you sure that your 78 was a 12x14? My 77 Tique has a 13x13 on it.

The 540 is 13x12 but ofcourse backwards for your new engine. I turn a 540 at 4900,I think you'll spill the guts out of the motor with the 13x10.5
