A few questions...

Do you have any photos available?

Why did you remove it from a 2001 Air Nautique? Is it a salvage situation?

Last, where are you located?

Thanks,
Erik

Erik, Glad to see you over hear visting us. I go over to your site everyonce in a while too.

Just noticed a post above yours from 82ski2001. Hopefully this isn't the same person posting on your site under the same user name or aka: coricluster. It sounds like issues have come up concerning him with some people on PN as well as wakeskating.com. Any insite?

2001 thread

If there is any truth to the problems, I would hate to see anyone else get hurt.

82ski2001, I certainly hope that you are not the same person that I have refered to and if so, I understand I am only reading one side of the issues. You are welcome to fill us in.

That stinks. Yeah it isn't a stretch to assume this 82ski2001 is the same individual that posted under the username on my site. Ip address would verify but I won't post it and I assume Keith wouldn't either.

I removed that thread on The2001.com along with the 82ski2001 account because after researching it, it turns out that it was indeed him.

The tower is in Winter Haven Florida. It was taken off a 2001 mid-engine Air Nautique. I believe it is the same hull as the Sport Nautique. It is anodized black and in perfect condition except that the speakers are not on it, and it has been drilled for a bimini top. I have all the hardware. It is very light, but awkward. Anything more you need to know? You can call me on my cellphone: 815-953-1823. bigwavedave

Well, the links to the posts on wakeskating.com and planetnautique.com are available, but to summarize he was involved with a few simultaneous sour deals/sales of wake gear. You don't see it really ever in the Correct Craft communities and you rarely see it on Wakeboarder.com (for whom I work as some of you know) and wakeworld.com. I believe it was an extended pylon and then a winch skating system - he apparently left the country without paying people... the whole thing went south in both cases. People chased him around, located his parents number, and so on... He had the people at wakeboader.com wakeskating.com (which is owned by the same person, my boss, as wakeboarder.com) and PlanetNautique.com (the owner of which is a friend of mine). So I saw him cause a stir at these locations and didn't affect me directly but did leave a bad feeling.

well if 82Ski2001 is in fact "Coricluster", he's kind of a douche. Bought things from people, sent no money. Sold things, sent no item, etc. Check out PN, I'm not sure if they've pulled his posts over there but it was interesting to watch for a bit

I am losing my storage place for this tower in April, so I would like to sell this soon. Am willing to let it go for $700.00 plus shipping. I will be back in Winter Haven on March 11 and can get all the exact measurements and any details one would need. Call me if interested. 815-953-1823. Bigwavedave

82,
Did you really bend the front legs in that far, or did you use Photoshop to exaggerate??

I didn't need to bend the front legs in nearly that far when I put an FCT on my '87.

   Check out my link below.

well i bent them in that far because i had some previous glass work done on the edge at one time, and i didnt want to mount on top of that. so thats one reason, the other was that when we bent it in, it lost alot of height, so we extended it and they just ended up in that far, i kinda like it, its different.

Its not a good solution structurally though your giving a huge lever arm to the force on the deck, I would truly reconsider using that tower like that you might only get away with a lot of stress cracks if your small and lucky.

I have to agree with Joe on this one.....
That deck was not made to support the loads that you could generate with the set up you have there.
Maybe all it will do is rip two large hole out of the foredeck, worst case is the damage to the observer and rear seat passengers.
You are on your own here as it was your idea,I would recommend a good crash helmet as an added safety measure...........Boat dr

John, I'm sure glad you put the ply and stainless backing under the deck. Now instead of a small holes in the deck, it will be a big holes. I have got to agree with Joe and the Doc. I don't even like to walk on the decks!

You may want to consider glassing in some reinforcement ribbing fore to aft as well as port to starboard.

Hope BigWaveDave got paid for that tower.

It should be as close to the sides as possible, with adequate backing plates.
