Hate to be the bearer of bad news but..

Seems that the Lake (Chuck Arney) had a motorcycle accident yesterday. I have no other details whatsoever. I did call his cell phone this evening and Tina answered and said that they were with the doctor. More news coming later or tomorrow.
The first e-mail I recieved said that Chuck had 'scrapes and abrasions' on both arms and was headed to surgury. The next update said that he had 'pins and plates' in both arms.
I will post more news as I get it.

Keep the Arneys in your prayers...

I don't know this gentleman but I hope he recovers soon, we lost a fire captain today in a motorcycle crash up in the Sierra, after too many close calls I figured I had used all my free passes up and sold my motorcycle while I still had my hands and feet and stuff. It's not a matter of IF? you are going down it's WHEN?

It does sound and is serious Chris but at least it did not go any further than that. A friend at work son had the same thing happen but it was the car behind him that was the unlucky part.

Get well Chuck were all pulling for you!

Sound like the deer never had a prayer. Glad to hear Chuck is home and recovering.
For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

Those of us that ride know that there are two types of motorcyclists. Those that have been in an accident and those that will be in an accident. It goes with the territory and happens to all of us sooner or later. Get well soon!

talked to Chuck again tonight. Glad to be home but in pretty tough shape. Bad breaks in both arms. Some road rash elsewhere but all in all in pretty good shape. He thanks all for their concern. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Gonna be a long road back. Maybe drop him an e-mail.

Thanks for all your concerns, kind thoughts and prayers. I have not been active here as late but hopefully my life pace will now change. I'll give fuller report later, when I can get my voice activated software in place. How does Jbear do this with one finger?

And thanks Steve for the report which confirms that I'm not as old as you:-)

By the way, the bike WAS an ST1100 not a Goldwing

Family, friends, and faith are for me vitally important, thanks to you guys for being that!

I'm very fortunate, coming off a bike and over a deer at 55mph on a rural road, well, to be here pecking on a keyboard with some friends is pretty good stuff.

And yes Brian I see the irony.

Well that makes 2 CCFans in the last month. Prayers sent for a full & speedy recovery Chuck.
On a threadjack sidenote, fellow friend and Fan Greg Carbone was involved in an accident shortly after leaving my shop for a visit back in Early April. He totalled his Fatboy and had to have surgery on his shoulder and ankle. His wife was also on the bike and made out better than he. He's recovering slowly and hopes to be back on the water this season. Be safe out there guys. Not much between you and the ground and sh!t happens fast.

Thanks for tuning us in Chuck and taking 45 mins to peck out a msg to give us an update. Did you talk the doc into making the cast waterproof? Prayers to you my CCFriend and get well soon. It's obvious that you still have work to do for 'The Man Upstairs' and he's not done with you yet.

I sold my motorcycle so I could get enough money together to buy my boat. I sometimes miss it, but enjoy the boat much more. Maybe it was for the best.

Get well Chuck, hope everything turns out ok
