I just got the latest weather report and southern Maine is expected to get 6-10 inches of snow and sleet Wednesday night. I guess where it was in the 40s, 50s, and 60s through the beginning of January is hard to take. Wait and see...

Hang in there Jeff. Just pick up a six pack of Corona, close your eyes and imagine you are at the sand bar.

Jeff, Did I mention that Jbear and I are gonna be down near Key West for the Easter weekend, or did you really not care? I'm sorry my friend, but like Larry said, just make the best of it for now, 'cause you/we know how nice it'll be in Maine in just a few months. Brrrrrrrrrr..

It almost seems to easy Reid to get on these poor guys about the weather anymore. I just cannot imagine snow at this time of year anymore. Guess I just forgot how it used to be. Told Jeff I got sunburned this weekend when me and Backfoot had the boats out. Don't think he believed me.

See ya in the Keys Friday about noon!

If you liked spring skiing, you'd be pretty excited about it. I love snow in April.

Jeff,
This is a little depressing!
We had a pretty warm winter overall, but this crappy cold, raw, rainy weather seems to be hanging in there.
Luckily - the wife said "lets do something on April vacation". So we're jumping in the RV and heading for Myrtle Beach in 10 days!
Hopefully there's a little warm sunny weather there to adjust the attitude!

Nauti84(Scott), Here's an alternative and a guarantee for some warmer weather, seeing you're obviously an RV'er: This camper below is sitting right on the water just north of Key West. Jbear and our main squeezes are headed down this weekend, and it'll be available afterwards with no charge for the camper itself, just for the site. You can fly out of Boston and be in Key West in 6-8 hrs for $450 apeice. You'll probably otherwise spend that much on fuel getting to SC. A great restaurant/bar right on site. Scott, if you can't make it, it's also available to any other active fulltime CCFan members until we haul it back up here next month. Anyone with any interest please just call or email me, and check out the link for this place as well. http://www.geigerkeymarina.com/

Very cool set-up Reid & thank you very much for the offer!
My wife and I left the kids w/ the Grandparents in Pompano and did a 2-day Key West trip a couple of years ago - Had a ball.
Right now, w/ the class "A", I'm finding the trip half the fun though. Screw the gas price (kinda like boating). Eventually want to make a MH trip all the way down to the Keys, just need more time
(It's always this stupid work crap that gets in my way of having fun )
Hopefully we'll find some decent weather on the Myrtle Beach trip!

Nauti; When me and mrs jbear had our Honey MH we loved the "gettin' there" as much as the destination. And of course if ya gotta worry about the mileage ya can't afford it anyhow.

Nauti84 and Jbear,

Getting there has always been half the fun for me. I love driving my class A expecially with the boat behind it. I feel like I'm on top of the world, until some 40' Newmar diesel pusher towing a hummer blows by me at 75mph. It's humbling but atleast it's paid for.

Traveling like that and camping is one of the best things we'd ever done with our kids until last year when we started camping at lakeside sites with the nautique. It don't get any better than that.

I love going camping but I have the same work problems. Working and running a business sucks. I hope the business grows enough, so my wife can quit work and just do the books for the business for me. I wont quit work.

Alan: Dottos, nothing better than rolling down the highway with the boat in tow, the CB radio on and mrs jbear handing me snacks and drinks. I do miss that ole motor home.

Eric I feel for all you guy's in the North. I see where places like New England got hit with 12 plus inches of snow, and rampant power outages. If it makes you feel any better (I doubt), we've gone from 90 degrees Monday to a high Saturday in the low 50's. Wouldn't be so bad but it's our annual friends family kick off to the season when the brave and well young jump in for the first ski of the year. At this point I'm not even sure the boats will see the lake. Having said that, at least we don't have snow, although were looking at freezing temps tonight through Monday.

Nonetheless, Happy Easter to all, stay safe. d
Danny

We got about 9 inches of snow on wed night. .Lost power for about 6 hours.Still have some friends that are without and will probably be so until Sunday. Some roads are still unpassable due to downed trees and lines. The snow is almost gone already from the sun being out,but it's still in the low 30's(day)and the low 20's/teens(night).worst part is with the arctic Air mass in place, they are saying it could happen again within the next week....I'm supposed to get the boat out next Saturday, keeping my fingers crossed.

WOW!! I missed a bunch here! I think Im back. I havent been on the computer since the storm. We got about 15 inches of snow in one area, and about 8 at the coast. What a mess!! I think I made a 40 hr week in 2 days!! Power outages caused some of the radio sites grief.
All of you with suntans and poking us with a sharp stick is working!!! I think I will move south...
Its fun watching out the window and seeing what appears to be lightning, but its only the powerlines shorting out.

Guys, I am back too after spending an awesome weekend with mrs jbear at Reid's place on the "Backside of Paradise". Check out the pic he posted earlier in this thread. The place is all that and more. Right on the water. Atlantic is just on the other side on the mangroves. Cool bar/resturant with very cold beer and great food. Hint; tell them you know Laurie (Reid's lovely better half) don't mention Reid. Great food and friendly staff that greet you as if they have always known you. Short trip, 11 miles, to all that Duvall Street on Key West has to offer. Ask Reid about the Gals we saw Friday nite, inviting us into their show. Pets are welcome, we took Jo the Tennessee wonder dog and she had almost as good a time as we did. Laurie and Reid were gracious hosts and truley showed us a great time. What other host would insist that you bring your dog to their new trailer?

Reid has posted an offer here of the trailer to any of the C/CFAN regulars. I would strongly suggest some of you guys, especially Northerners take him up on this. You won't be sorry. And me and mrs jbear are only 7 hours away in Central Florida if you want to vsit.

At the bar they had tvs tuned to the Weather Channel so we could watch the misery you Northern guys were feeling. We really did feel bad for you guys.

It was an awesome time for us, many thanks to Reid and Laurie for having us.

You're very welcome John. We had a great time and it was difficult leaving. You left your hair brush by the way, so I'm hoping you were able to get out and back to work. Also a folding chair; mine now. For anyone else, here are a few picts from the campsite they had us in, several from the camper roof, one out the back door, and one of jbear posing as only a CC owner can.

Reid,

I see no comments concerning the next to last picture. Is that too a distinguished CC owner?

Jbear, very suave. Is that shorts you're wearing? I don't even know where mine are.

Thanks Chuck. Those things are called "shorts". A person wears them when the weather is warm. Which means I wear 'em year-round, execpt on Sunday.

The slender looking gent is the Famous ReidP. Sorry we did not get a single picture of our 2 lovely wives.

Believe me guys, this place is even better than it looks.

PS; We left 2 chairs in the front compartment. They were meant to be left, thats why we bought red. Hopefully we will get invited back to sit in them.
