This is the family Mustang 17 with the optional OMC 225 Chevy 307 engine. This boat will do exactly 50 mph using a radar gun. It was bought new by my grandfather (who recently passed away) and has been at the same spot on the lake since new. My father is now the legal owner since his death, and will remain in the family and will travel down the siblings.

In 1996, I decided to take it out of the corner and rebuilt it. It sat for 12 years in the corner of of our shop where it needed a major overhaul. At the age of 24, I decided its time for me to do something with her. It has a new interior matching the original which cost almost as much as the boat new. I Repaired the carb, built all new original seats, coming pads etc., rebuilt the carb 20 times before it was right, and the list goes on. The only thing that worked was the gauges.

Today it sits in the lake and gets used for Sunday drives. It had 454 hrs on it in 1996 and has 1100 hrs on it today. It still runs great and is treated as if it were a baby. I purchased a 1976 Mustang 17 to ski with to cut down on the hours of this boat. I was averaging 100 hrs a year on her. My father is the only other driver and uses it a few times a year with my mom. This is the best feeling anyone could ever ask for!!
