is there any problem with removing the exhaust silencer on a 93 351? does it serve any other purpose other than silencing? i plan on replacing it with a y piece to run an unsilenced exhaust. love the sound of the older boats!

Peter, The only problem may be the governing authorithy on your waters with a decible meter. The older boats are typically grandfathered and not subject to the newer noise regulations. Also, you will not get the same sound of a old dual exhaust with a Y going out to a single exhaust.

thanks, i dont believe there is a noise restriction- its used on a small ski lake. going to give it a go and see if i like the sound
