Loosten the coupling bolts, and if it can then spin, the engine alignment is WAAAY off.

Ryan you need to remove the bolts and seperate the coupling halfs then try and spin it. 50-60 degree weather won't keep it from spinning. Before you unbolt things try disconnecting the shift cable at the tranny and make sure the shift arm on the tranny is over the N or in the middle, neutral, then try and spin it, try moving the arm a little one way or the other to find neutral, this will be much easier and quicker than unbolting the coupling. If it still won't spin then unbolt it and if it spins then you'll have to figure out what's in a bind in the tranny/engine.

It could be that the shaft has just stuck to the cutlass bearing from being layed up for awhile now.

Get a couple of broom handles or similiar and try to break it free. If it stills turns exceptionally hard, then check out the transmission.
