I have to make this conversion to the protec Retro Kit on my Excel. I'm looking for advise with the instalation. Should I attempt this myself or does it have to be instaqlled by a dealer?
Any help would be great. |

Woody,
I'm sure we have one of our members who have done the conversion. Be patient!! How are you with engines? |

I converted my Protec ignition to the conversion kit from SkiDim last summer. My friend and I completed the conversion in a few hours. The directions are very good, wiring harness is plug and play and everything went together without a problem. Only difficulty was getting the timing close enough so it would start. Has run fine ever since.

Thanks for responding. I have rebuild a couple of engines but without electronics. I wasn't sure if the conversion kit came with directions, If it does, I think that I could get it done. If not I hope that all of you could back me up.

You have more experience with engines than I do. You should be fine with this project.
