I have been trying to figure out how or where to put the raw water pump. Don't get confused Im not talking about the direction of water flow thats not what I am asking I am asking where does this Raw water pump attach to I have a new engine with all new parts and I have no clue about this pump. The pump I am trying to put on is a g21 sherwood raw water pump along with the bracket. I bought off of skidim/exhaustmanifolds I know it mounts to the left of the engine viewing from the front of the boat but I see no holes for this bracket. Am I missing another piece or what. or do I need a different bracket? Please if there is anyone out there that can help please educate me on this problem....

You are missing the timing cover which has the mounting holes and surface for your bracket. It is a marine specific part, if it mounts on the left it is probably a pcm specific part.

The timing cover is what your pump and bracket from skidim mounts to, the automotive one doesnt have added mounting location for a raw water pump but the pcm one does, other than that you could get away with a automotive version. Other marinizations by other companies have mounted them in other locations but you would need different brackets and possibly timing covers or even circulating pumps for those types as well.
I would just get the pcm timing cover at this point, or go back to whoever sold you the engine and ask them where your supposed to mount a rwp? |
