I am in total agreement, metal "Correct Craft" emblems are in need.
From reading past posts, the demand for this item would be through the roof!!! |

What about the 2001 GLOVE BOX LID? We are still waiting for those. It should be a top 5 item.

I would buy steps pads and wind wings. I think the 60's CC embems are a good idea because so many people need them. I'm surprised that no one has done it yet.

Need the teak for the interior on 87 BFN. I would think lots of people could use this. I believe the BFN and the regular SN are slightly different but I could be wrong on that.

Making these parts is the easy thing (as long as you don't step on CC's toes), it's paying for the tooling on the die casts or molds for the volume you'd sell.. I guess it would depend on what someone would pay for each item and what ROI you'd be looking for from each tool cost... That's why it's not already being done..

This is an area where I may be able to help. I'm going to remake all of my teak parts in a couple of months and could make more. I'll ask about interest when I get the teak and an idea of cost. Anyone know if I can make exact copies of the existing parts without stepping on CC's toes? It would also be nice to know the oldest models that they have factory teak parts for. |

Id be surprised if CC has any teak pieces like that still available. If CC doesnt sell a replacement part, I see no problem with someone else reproducing them for the purposes of restoration. I imagine theres a possibility that CC might be interested in collecting a commission for parts that bore their name (decals, logos, etc). The emblems and step pads would probably fall into this category. Again, if the intent of the parts is to be used by a handful of enthusiasts to restore their boats (and not a business trying to generate revenue), I dont think CC would come after anyone for copyright infringement. Then again, I probably wouldnt ask permission first, either. Just my 2 cents. |

Exactly! My guess is that they would ask for royalties if approached beforehand. I doubt they would seek litigation after the fact if the volume or profits on the parts werent huge. '89 was the last year for the teak steps on the Ski Nautique. Im guessing the last year for the BFN would have been '90. |

So on the ski nautiques, it's only the step pads and the swim deck? The BFN and maybe the excel had the teak inside?
It's a pretty small market and the CC guys would have to proud to see the older boats fixed rather than junked. I don't remember any CC logos on the teak either. Other guys here may want to do their own anyway, and if someone cares that I did my own...LOL It's just that if I set up to do 1 part for me, 10 more wouldn't be a big deal; and I'm mostly trying to return some help that I've gotten. |

The 87-89 Ski Nautiques had the teak on the steps like this: I assume thats what youre talking about? 87-90 BFN would have been the same. Like I said, the only parts that I would guess CC *might* try to collect royalties on would be parts with their name on them. Reproducing the teak pieces should be absolutely no problem. |

That's the stuff. I could've looked in the brochures, but I knew you knew.
I'm remaking the steps, the angled pieces in the back corners, the swim platform, and some speaker covers. I want to do something with the dash as well, but I'm not sure what yet. Sorry Pete, the dash won't be original. I do hope you'll approve though! LOL |

Tim,
who's boat did you picture above? My boat and I know others here most likely have the same thing. I have one more piece of teak along the side of the gunnal. It protects the edge and it gives it a little cleaner look in my opinion. Buffalo Do you have this piece that I am talking about on your boat? |

ultrahots had a friend in woodworking who made all new interior teak for his 87 SN. The guy made pine replicas to be used to make the teak. The BFN is definitely different than the SN, but the pieces look like the same cross-sectional dimensions, just different lengths and angles.
