Looks like the CCFan reunion made it to Waterski magazine! The picture shown is from last year and is mainly Rob Leinen's 97 SNOB in Green Lake 2006!!! Kudos! It's in the "Shortlines" section of the latest issue.

Are the reunions at the same place every year? If so I may need to go to Green Lake in 2008 as it's only about 3 hrs away from me. Looks like you guys know how to have a good time. Coolers full of beer and plenty of food to grill are the only requirements right? And of course owning a CC. I told my wife she needs to learn how to tow our pop-up camper so we can take both on trips. Brian

Brian , Where are you located ?
It is also not absolutly necessary to bring a CC . We welcome any boats . We are all a boating family with most having CC's in common

I live right by Dubuque, Iowa....in Cascade. Did all of my early boating on the Chain of Lakes in Northern Illinois from about 1982 until 1992 back when I lived in the Chicago Burbs. Blarney Island was a nice place. The Thurs. nite boat races were cool. Saw a boat there one time it was so fast it launched into the air and fluttered down like a leaf. I bet it had to get at least 80 ft. off the water. It was some really tricked out outboard. They cancelled the races afterward, because it was too windy. The guy was ok though but his boat was trashed. Brian

Brian,

What suburb are you from? Grew up in Downers Grove myself, live close to the chain now in Lake Villa. Blarneys is always a good time no doubt but the CC reunions are even better!

Brian,

Speaking of being in magazines, did you see the story about Discovery Bay in Boat US. Nice place you have there.

Larry,

Don't know that I've ever read Boat US, but I'll have to look for it. Discovery Bay is a pretty unique place. I'd like to see the article.

Joel,

Still curious what issue of Waterski.

I haven't gotten mine yet, but it's in the August issue. I worked on this for a little while and just missed the July issue (that is why both reunions are not in there).

My copy says September on the spine. Seems a bit early for a September issue but perhaps it's a miss-print.

It is the Sept. issue. I just got mine in the mail last night. There isn't an august issue. Must be one of the months that they skip with their 10 issues per year. August is the month when all the national tournaments are run and the writers I'm sure are on road the whole month.

Rob,

I haven't seen a Waterski Magazine on the Newstand in years. Maybe they do it, but I fly all around the country and I haven't seen it in a single newstand. You can call subscriptions at 800-879-0495. I believe they'll send you a single issue, but the subscriptions are pretty cheap as well. BKH

Go to a Borders or B. Dalton or something like that. They usually have them on the newstand.

Hey Rob,
I sent them about a half-dozen photos from last year's reunions along with a bunch of text they could quote me on. Anxious to see what they used. My issue will probably arrive today. I'll scan an post when I get it.
