If you use:

SynLube™ Lube−4−Life®

Here’s the kicker; No Oil Changes in most applications during the "Useful Life" of the vehicle or equipment

When I was a pup I had a '37 Plymouth 6cyl flat, My guess is it had a broken oil ring.

'ol joke was true, I would check the gas & fill up the oil. I bought used oil for like $3/ 5 gals.

I wish I knew then what I know now so I could have rebuilt it. Was a cool car with crank-out windshield & 3 on the floor.

9 cases delivered to my back porch within 5 days of ordering... average price about 15 dollars a 6 pack. Should be enough to break in a few new engines and bring a few old ones back to life. I probably ran close to that much oil through one 413 Chrysler last year chasing an intermittent water making issue -

My 4 cases showed up with in days of ordering.   Thanks to the OP for giving us a heads up on a great $$ deal.
Just sitting on the shelf waiting to put in at next oil change.
Have not noticed it "sludging up" in the container yet.

Pretty sure the manual has recommendations based on operating temps.

How do they sell that stuff so cheaply? Is it a lost leader? I thought 20% off retail at NAPA was a great deal last year. This deal was about 75% off.

I have a late 80's PCM manual that recommends 10-30 or 10-40 also. If you could get it it would not hurt but IMHO we don't jump in our boats like we do our cars and take right off. They are brought up to temp before we work them hard so the 20-50 seems to work fine.

Looking further through the manual though they contradict themselves having you use straight weights. This is a good example of the book being out of date, which manufacturer is going to do oil tests on their old engines -

I ordered and received 4 cases on the first go round.
Second time I ordered 2 more for me and 3 for a buddy, couple days later I received an email from Amazon that they had realized they had miss priced the the item ( 6 pack of VR1 20w-50) and would honor the price for 1 item not the full order. They will be sending me my order( reduced to 1 by them) shortly.
It was great while it lasted!

Ross,
I think you missed this. I'm curious on how much cooled the generator runs.

Generator is 12000 watts not sure on delta T , briggs isn't exactly forth coming in their manuals , but it runs like a scaled dawg during a hurricane in all kinds of weather. electric start too. survived ice storms of South Carolina. It does run a tad cooler on synthetic i checked on infrared gun.

VR1 update poured all mine in the yard to kill some weeds , cheaper than roundup.

Kinda conflicting statements
The term Delta T (ΔT) is the difference of temperature between two measuring points.

Checking the temperature on a generator has so many variables. You have a better chance getting a clear and steady vote from Hillary.

I guess it would be interesting to note delta T. Back in the late 70’s when I was at U if I aviation institute we were trying to get FAA approval for extending oil change intervals on training aircraft, since we hit 100 hour standard oil change times every few weeks on basic training aircraft. We ran Phillips 30 straight viscosity against the Ester-based Mobil One formulation and ran cyclic power/cooling to simulate lots of touch and go landings and ran the engines to 2000 hours. I wish I had access to the tear down photos. Measuring the Dino oil engine showed some pretty significant wear that would clearly require overhaul. The synthetic oil engine measured very close to a zero-time engine. I wasn’t there to find out if U if I got permission to extend drain intervals but I sure did start using synthetic oil on all of my engines large and small. I wish Mobil still made the gas to liquids formula—rumor that they do for some Euro-spec applications but don’t have any inside knowledge. I think Amsoil and others make gtl synthetics.

Bought it all apart. It was covered but not painted. No panel or interior when I got it. Basically rebuilt all of it. All leather interior and glass panel.   Lots of Titanium pieces fabricated and carbon fibre. Have seen 200 mph level at 3000 ft. Climbs pretty easy at over 2000+ ft/min.
21 gallon tank is only down side. But after 2 hours you want out to stretch anyway. Very agile fun airplane..

No liquid water for a few more months but I did break into the VR1. My 69 Bolens with the 12 HP Wisconsin single was due for a change and I figured I'd start running the 20-50 in it since I used my last quart of 30 a couple months ago.

I had been running this high tech straight 30:

Man sounds like you need more like 20w for that ice fishing. 20w50 probably barely turnover and sludge up!

Ross,
I highly recommend you do some reading about multi weight oils. Your statement tells me you don't know what the 20-50 means. FYI, the 20 is the base weight of the oil so a 20-50 acts like a straight 20 when it's cold. Then, when hot it acts like a 50 weight. Doesn't Amsoil have a FAQ section on their web site? Also, how familiar are you with a Wisconsin S-14d? BTW, I don't ice fish!!

I only use oil from the back of a KFC to make 1000 hp . I don"t need viscosity and heat range links thanks. i know what multi weight oils are why PCM didn't use them back then i guess they just weren't rated right for application.
