Yep I have a 273, it's pretty much a mini 318 and I love it.

Where might this 318 be? I just noticed you are from Omaha. I live about 50 mins west.

My chrysler has been great! Most people always have some sort of affection for the old motors. I would put mine up against any other stock 351 ford or 350 Chevy.

Gary,
When you get a chance, take a look in the diaries at the Ski Nautiques and you will find plenty with the 318's and in fact more than Ford's. You must be thinking of later SN's?? The 318 is a great engine so don't let the Mopar scare you away. |

Hey guys I'm new here, but Im looking at a 1973 Nautique 18 with a 318 Chrysler motor. The boat appears to be in excellent condition and the motor original but I've never seen one with a 318. I thought they were all Ford powered. I know in cars the LA version of a 318 was a great and very dependable motor, but know nothing about them in a Marine application. Anybody shed some light on this for me, good/ bad...horsepower...etc and do they de-value the price of a boat. Thanks in advance Gary
