off topic winter projects

Justin, I will get some Hobie photos next Summer, its in the garage now, it looks its best with the sail up. I had a Hobie 16 years ago, I wanted a smaller one, they are easier to right.

Tee 89's with the fiber wheels are cool but can't be repaired when people found curbs. My "le mans" wheels were trashed and a company was able to make them look like new again for me. I graduated and went to college and the boat, the 73 911, and my 67 took priority over the CSX so it was stored in barn from the time I was 16-24. I would take it for an open down pipe blast once in a while but now with a real job and bills to pay I didn't see how I could justify a full restoration on a car that wouldn't be worth more than 3500 bucks. It was #542. Dad had a perfect low mileage Shelby Dakota when I was a kid. My first car was a pretty red 89 non turbo Daytona. I thought I would be nice and let my little cousin drive our 89 4 door 2.5 turbo Shadow untill he finished school. He promptly toasted the motor and sold the car to a scrap yard without my knowledge.....

I sure pissed off a lot of guys in new Mustangs and Crossfires when I was 16 in that car! The GP struts and Shelby springs sure made that thing fun to drive.

My goodness Joel! I remember a lot of cowl shake and windshield frame movement over bumps in the GTC's we sold. Scary.

Haha Joe, I have pitchploed a Hobie 16, haven't sailed one much if that hasn't happened,   The Hobie 14 is a turbo, so yes good suggestion for the 14 turbo. Thanks.

Here it is in use with my 78 champ that was another small project this winter. New rectifier tube, new speaker, tightened tube sockets, cleaned it up and now its ready to rock again.

you indiana boys... my uncle lives in Indy and has a beautiful les paul custom that he never plays, should be a crime.

ya 70's LPs arent particularly valuable yet 2-3K but give them another 10 years and if its in good shape Im sure it will be closer to 5K. Hard to find any other investment that will do that.

They wont ever reach the crazy levels of the 50-60s guitars just because by the 70s most guitars had gone mass production so they just made alot more.
