Hi
I live in calgary AB Canada, I have a 1993 Sport. When I run the engine on the trailer,(hooked up with water of corse) I get a whining noise. It almost sounds like its coming from the direct drive. Anybody have an idea on what it might be??????

Check and see if your driveshaft is turning in neutral. If its creeping, it will make some noise since the cutlass bearing isnt lubricated.

YES it is if you are running it in gear, now if it is out of gear there is no issues unless it's getting hot.

You can run it all day as long as you're not putting it in gear and you don't want to rev it real high. I would guess that 2000RPM is about max. Depends how good your water pressure is. Once the engine demands exceed the water hose capabilities, the hose can collapse.
When people run down to the lake to see what's making that noise, you've succeeded.
