Me too. With the number of clunkers I have ready to restore, I am certainly not opposed to seeing $15k+ price tags on vintage CC's. If and when that ever happens, I do not think that the boats fetching top dollar will look much like that particular example, though. Lots of deviations from original, which do not look very good IMHO. It's been for sale for a long time.

Larry,
I'd have to say it's legit. The outdrive dog house has the looks of coming from the factory. Same style they used on DD dog house bump outs. |

How would the outdrive affect ski wake versus DD? I'm visiting some folks in Ohio that have a lot of shallow, Man-made lakes to deal with (logs and stumps). Maybe this would be a solution for that?

Seems you might be worse off with a manually trimmed outdrive than you'd be with an inboard.

As Tim said, I am pretty sure these old out drives were either Down or Up. No tilt and trim on these bugaboo's... |

And with 100 HP you'd likely loose 20-25 HP in the outdrive so not much power for skiing. Plus the outdrive would drive the nose skyward and have to plane off where an inboard would get up to speed much easier. I would expect it to suck as a ski boat.

Mastercraft Barefoot Skier. I might start spending more time on FL Gulf coast and that may be my new ski boat. |

Larry,
The Powernaut is the outdrive. Eaton made them and typically paired them up with their Interceptor engines. They go back into I believe the late 50's early 60's. Needless to say they were not very reliable and consequently not very successful! I'll never forget the one customer who had one back in my days at Watercraft. One day it was towed in by the customers son and he said the engine wouldn't turn over. The son happened to be at the cottage alone and was told not to use the boat before his father came up. Well, as you and I probably did back in our early days, he ignored his father wishes, used the boat, heard a funny sound and decided the engine was low on oil. His father was due to arrive in a couple days so he ran out and got oil. Looking at the problem, we noticed lots of oil coming out of the dip stick tube and then discovered why the engine wouldn't turn over. The son had filled the engine with oil to the top of the valve cover!!! |

Its either a 19 or 20 footer.. .hard to tell on my phone... Most boats with the popup hatch were the 20 footers. The engine could be a 383 - which would be cooler than a 360 repower .. but would have likely been a 318 or a 426 originally. Trbenj could sell you a trailer for it
