gas tank replacement fix??

I think I have to replace my tank I removed it yesterday and put peastones in it and shook it like hell to clean off the rust. still not that great would be tempted to spray something on the bottom inside?? any ideas or info on a replacement the tank says
tempo long cruise fuel tank 12 gallon and it's in my 68 mustang, thats I'm bringing to lake george next week

It does work. Or take the tank to a shop that does the lining. A lot of radiator shops do it.

Yes, you can also put a Tempo plastic tank in but the fill point doesn't line up.

Pete, the Tempos were an exact replacement. Unfortunately, they went out of business last year. I think I got the last one. The new tanks are the same size, but made by a different company, and you are correct, the fill spout is in the center, so they are of no use.
