Hello all. This is a great site. I've already spent hours here, but I'm having trouble finding some answers. I have a 72' Skier and it needs a new floor. I noticed a few posts that said not to use treated plywood. Does this only apply to Stringers or does this apply to any/all floor material?? I'd like to inspect the stringers. How does one know or check if the stringers need replacement? Thanks in advance.
Darren

Darren, You don't want to use treated anyplace. The same resin adhesion problem applies to plywood or solid. You will need to drill some holes through the fiberglass covering the stringers. I suggest about a 1" hole saw.

Welcome and don't forget some pictures. Keep in touch and ask questions if needed.

Thanks! I'm glad I asked. So when you replace the floor, I'm assuming you just use regular plywood? Any particular kind. Does it get treated with anything at all?? I'll get some pictures up soon.

Darren, There are some great threads (with pictures) here on the subject. Check out "weeding the pumpkin patch" but be prepared to do some reading. Regular ply is fine treated with CPES. That's Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer. Do plan on using epoxy (not polyester resin) for all your stringer and floor work.

Sounds great. Where can one find CPES? Is this a common item you find at Lowes or a paint suppy?
