Matt, good looking boat dude! I love to hear restoration stories like that. From the Pics of the boat on Hartwell it looks like its down a bit . Is it it that low or just construction across the cove? You need a CC fan hat to go with the boat. Congrats on making the home page!!

Thanks for all the compliments!

When I bought the boat I searched the internet relentlessly for a site like this or even pictures of restored CC's for motivation. That was back in 2001. All I could find was some pictures of a nicely restored Nautique that was done by a boat shop. It looked a little different because the "Ski Nautique" logo was left off. I bet I looked at those pictures 1,000 times for motivation!

I knew I liked CC's and knew the prices of the new ones and decided if I wanted one any time soon I'd better restore this one. However, based on my internet research I began to question whether or not there was a real following for the old beauties. I decided to go along with the restoration anyway. I could remember seeing Nautiques on Lake Gaston in NC when I was growing up. The sound always got my attention and the looks never let me down.

Finding this site was a breath of fresh air!

Tim... The lake is that low! It's started going down again. It's gone down about a foot in the last couple weeks. It's currently 8 feet below average for this time of year.

John... That's where the prop went! Thanks again. Tell Mark I said, "You're welcome!" I've got a 650 loaner carb (option to buy...it's my father-in-law's) that I'll try within the next couple weeks. Also I have two carb spacers-- open and four hole. Ever tried carb spacer changes?

Congrats Matt!!
Very very very nice boat!
