My Nautique was found fully used up and somewhat abused hiding in a friend of a friend’s basement while at a party. I fell in love and could instantly see the potential. 6 months later I finally talked the owner into selling it. He didn’t have a difficult time deciding after realizing not winterizing and months of leaving the engine cover off had ruined the engine. The previous owner had pulled most of the wiring from under the dash and the block, one head, and both risers were cracked. It actually had a new automotive starter and ruined ring gear! Obviously the PO didn’t know much about Nautiques!

It took me about two years of hard work to complete the restoration. The hull was restored and painted white with navy lettering. Portions of the floor were replaced. The cracked engine parts were replaced and rebuilt with mild performance parts. Most parts of the boat are new.

My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed our new 1976 Nautique.

I’ve met a lot of great people here and look forward to meeting other Nautique owners. What a great site!
