I guess I would have nightmares of wet foam if it were not sealed with feverglass. Some folks just like fresh carpet. between their toes. |

I sure agree! Whomever was responsible for that tower should be castrated! |

Oh the humanity, that tower is awful
My 80' SN had a Chevy, believe it was an optional powerplant. |

It does seem fishy about the engine...I wondered if the Chevy engine was a special order or something. And I agree, those '85 tri-colors are sharp.
I think I've seen it before as well. It was listed for sale on here for $11,000 in 2014. |

Sometimes I wonder if all people with classic boats have nightmares about stringers. Is there any way to keep water out of the foam when water runs downhill into the bilge every time someone gets in the boat, it rains, or the prop shaft seal and rudder seal leak like they're supposed to?

I have seen that boat for sale off and on over at least a year and a half. Arkansas I guess is close enough for the middle Tennessee craigslist posting to show it at times.
My question has always been about the carpet being replaced, but no mention of the stringers. |

'85 tri-colors are in my top 3 or 4 of all Correct Crafts. Never seen one that wasn't a Commander, not saying there werent PCM's. I'd question the engine, was it a donor from another boat? Not PCManifolds.

What do you guys think of this '85? Obviously the tower and windshield tint would have to go! Has a rebuilt Chevy 350 in it with about 75 hours on it (rebuilt due to cracked block). Asking price is $5500...
How rare is the Chevy motor? Pros/cons? |

Will do...My guess is the listing on the Nortech website is old and hasn't been updated. The craigslist ad was posted by the sales guy at Nortech, so I'm assuming they've reduced the price. |

Braden, I do suggest getting more info on the price discrepancy. If I do go up there, I won't get into the cost since I feel that's in your hands. |

Which one are you negotiating, the CL listing at $6900 or the dealer at $8900??

Pete, I thought that boat was near you! If you have some free time and don't mind running up to take a look at it sometime, that would be awesome. I texted with the seller this afternoon...Apparently it's shrink wrapped right now and he said they won't cut the wrap until someone comes to look at it (showroom is full). |

Chris,
The freeze plugs are #1 on my list so don't worry. BTW, I put the monogramed dress shirts away during the colder months and switch over to wool plaid shirts. I haven't gone totally north woods so no blaze orange yet! But, since Wisconsin has now approved blaze pink for deer season, I'm thinking it would be a complimentary color for the lesbianmobile! |

Tell him the guy in the lesmobile with the pocket protector and signature sleeve cuffs and turtleneck will be there soon. If we could only get a video link to that event, lmao
Pete, don't forget to check the freeze plugs!! |

Braden, I'd be happy to take a look at it if you want. Contact the seller and see what the status is. Keep in mind we are still several weeks from ice out. |

That's a nice looking boat...Really like the color combo. Listing on website says it's a one owner...It's for sale through Nortech Marine in Sayner, WI. I'm thinking this has to be close to some ccfan members??? |

The 87 in Stevens Point WI seems like a nice boat and not *too* far.

Thanks for the feedback all. That's why I posted it! I didn't notice the hull stripe change...that would explain the different graphics.
Yes Gary, the salesman doesn't really seem to be that interested in selling the boat...All of my questions I emailed him were one word answers. And I asked for more pictures and he only sent a couple. |

It's clean and sure has nice vinyl but I can't go for that hull stripe change.
86 is an older dash entirely |

There is something wrong with the stripe. Either a repaint, vinyl, etc. the shape is wrong. I'd keep looking.

I came across this 88 a few days ago while I was still working on the deal for the 87. This one is about 4.5 hours from me at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. I actually remember seeing it last summer when I was casually searching so it's been for sale for a while. Looks to be in really good shape with only 412 original hours. It's for sale through a boat brokerage...I called on it last week and apparently it was owned by a gentleman that owned a marina there. They think he is the second owner and he took it in on trade...They told me the stringers are good- no soft spots and its mechanically sound. I can tell the graphics aren't original, but that can be fixed. Anyone familiar with this boat?

Thanks for looking out! That boat needs to go to a Tarheel fan! I've got my sights set on an 86-88. I like the updated interior and dash on those years. |
