This is a pristine condition, 50th anniversary (1925-1975) edition Ski Nautique boat. It has never been left in the water and has been garaged its whole life. Everything in the boat including upholstery (except carpet) is original and still in great shape. The engine is original and runs like new. It rides on a 1970’s era homemade trailer that adds to its “vintage” appeal. I even have the owners manual and Escort engine guide with handwritten maintenance log from when the boat was being actively used. Over the last 8 years, the boat has only been used one week out of the year during family vacations.

There are two unique features on this boat: stars and stripes Ski Nautique and flames painted around rear air vents. The story I’ve been told is that there were two boats given these features at factory and one went to east coast, the other to west coast. This boat has been in California its whole life. For its first year, it was used as tow boat for Santa Clara Ski Club and then was sold to a private owner where it’s been well cared for since then.

I haven’t found anyone that can dispute the story about its unique features but also haven’t found anyone who can substantiate it either. In looking through the other diaries on this site, I don’t see any other boats sharing the features. If someone has knowledge or feedback about the story, I’d love to hear from you. If you happen to have or have seen another boat with these features, please let me know.

In 2004, the boat was given a marine inspection and appraisal for insurance purposes. Everything checked out great and the last lines of appraisal say, “This is a very exceptional boat for its age and has been well cared for. Value is well over book, our estimation would be $12,000 to $14,000 in present condition.” Since then, the boat has only 75 additional hours put on it, has been well maintained, garage stored, and is in same condition. I tend to think the appraised value is probably above the market value but then who knows.

What I can say is that this is a fantastic boat for water skiing and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s been trouble free and very dependable. Correct Craft made a great boat back then that has shown it can stand the test of time.
