The above photo is just after finishing the gelcoat and dash fixes in Summer 2011.

I bought this boat in 2007 while visiting a local machine shop for parts for my Ford Explorer customization project.

The boat was on a trailer that was nearly rotted in two, the block was cracked (winterized one side), the floor was rotten and the interior a mess. Other than that, what a beauty. LOL

To date, I had a custom dual axle trailer with brakes made for the boat, fixed the chunks, chips and scratches to the gelcoat, custom built a 454 full roller motor for it with 550hp, fixed the stripes on the side and rear (changed from grey, red and black to all black). Sanded and painted the faded and micro cracks in the dash. I purchased faria spun silver gauges for it. I am in the process of removing the floor and replacing/repairing.

Eric Lavine of Fantastic Finishes Marine (Medina, OH) did the rebuild of the Velvet Drive 1018 Transmission (Oct 2011). I highly recommend Eric.

Doug Mann, Mann Performance, of Newark, OH (740-322-6328) did the engine rebuild. Doug is a real pro with a complete machine shop. I highly recommend him.

More to come...
