My wife and I have been life long skiers. I grew up in New Hampshire skiing behind my Dad’s 1985 Ski Supreme and later on my brother’s 1987 Barefoot Nautique. My wife grew up in British Columbia, Canada and skied mostly behind old outboards.

We met while working as water-ski boat drivers at Camp Chateaugay in northern New York. I was the waterfront director and in charge of training and overseeing 5 inboard ski boats, a waterfront swim area, canoes, kayaks, olympic sized pool, crew boat, and about 20 sailboats.

After getting married in December 2002, we bought a 1987 Dixie Super Skier 299 and skied it for 6 years. During this time we lived a few years in Everson,WA and skied on Lake Sammish and Whatcom Lake. We also moved back to Andover, NH and skied on Highland Lake for a couple years. We finally ended up settling in Orondo, WA on the banks of the Columbia River. I call it SKIING PARADISE!!! No better public water in the country and probably better than a few private lakes. After we moved, I picked up a 1989 Mastercraft Pro Star 190. I only planned to fix up the Mastercraft and sell it for a bit of a profit and use that money with the sale of our Dixie to purchase a newer boat. Well the economy took a turn for the worst while I was fixing up the Mastercraft and delayed my plans for about a year.

When both boats finally sold we bought this 2003 Ski Nautique 196 LE from my neighbor and good friend. He bought it brand new in 2003 and only put 37 hours on it in 6 years. During the past 3 summers the only time the boat was out of the garage was when he took me and my wife skiing. It wasn’t really for sale, but I kept telling him to take good care of my boat and soon enough he started referring to it as my boat as well. We had our first son in April 2009 and decided it was time to get a GREAT slalom boat to bring the lad up right. We worked out a killer deal on this barely used NEW boat and it was officially OUR boat.

This Nautique was an AWSOME UPGRADE!!!! We Just Love To Ski The Course!!! And we all know, there is no better wake and pull than a 196 with perfect pass. Thanks Correct Craft Fan!!!
