I am the third owner of this boat which I bought in 1990. I have not been on this site in a while primarily due to a thing called "Life". Lot's of things have come up and I just don't have the time to go out on it like I used to. I have owed this boat for 33 years...

I thought I would just re-write everything and maybe some of you guys will email or text me with your comments and thoughts. I bought the boat in the spring of 1990 from my best friend who was the second owner of the boat. It is one of those things that you wonder if you are making the right decision when you buy it and it turns out to be one of the BEST things I have ever done. The boat runs just like it did when it was made in 1975. It sounds like two Harley Davidson's racing when it takes off. The trailer is original and has never been painted. All lights on the trailer work and it is beautiful riding down the road after dark.

I have done a lot of things maintenance wise to the boat but trying to keep it original as possible. It has a complete stringer restoration (documented on CCF), new carpet, new upholstery. The carburetor was recently rebuilt since its last rebuild in 1991. It has 900 original hours on it. One of the exhaust manifolds broke a few years ago and I had to buy an aftermarket replacement one blue in color to match its counterpart which is stamped "OMC 225" on it. The alternator finally gave out after about three rebuilds so I had to purchase a compatible current marine version. The engine has all its original Wingfoot hoses on it (yes they are 49 years old). The distributor was also replaced around 1994. I have two original props for the boat. The bimini top was added in 2000 when my son was born and is great for super hot days but I think it takes away from the originality of the boat.

We use it very little unfortunately. My son always talks about the new Nautiques and how big they are and all the modern gadgets. Of course, I would like to own one except that I am only about $300k short. Four people in my boat and it's almost overloaded unless they are small kids. This is my 35th summer of owning it and I still love taking it out. I get a lot of offers for it but some things are NFS if you know what I mean.

I apologize for not getting on this website more. I am just extremely busy and getting older. I was 30 when I bought it and financed it for a smooth 14% interest rate at the time. It only costs me $100 per year now for liability insurance.

Thanks everyone for all your advice over the years.
