My 2000 PAN keyless ignition doesn't work. Tried reprogramming but no results. Any suggestions besides replacement @ $300?

Smart pod? The last time this came up, the idea was tossed up of trying to "hot wire" it somehow. I guess that won't work.
Check out this thread: http://www.correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=26345 Although in this thread, it turned out to be a control box type of thing and not the actual keypad. But, people have had to replace those as well. |

once those keypads go bad there's nothing to do but replace them, I've been through a couple myself. the $300 hurts but as far as I know its the only solution.

what you should definitely do first is check your fuse box, when they pop out under those plastic covers its a real bltch to pop them back in. if that's what happened then you got off easy.

There was a keyless ignition in the for sale section a few days ago... used might get you by for a season or two, but it sounds as if they have a lifespan...

The lifespan of that bling sure would push me in the direction of installing a regular hard wired ignition switch.

From what Joel said in the above thread, you'd basically have to completely re-wire the whole dash and ditch all the "smart" stuff on the smart pod to use a regular key. That keypad isn't like a regular key, it's sending a signal to the computer to turn everything on.

I think fo $300, I'd replace the key pad.
On the other had, if the computer aspect of it fails, that's over $1,000. I think at that point, I'd break out the wiring kit. |

Aaaahh... The joy of electronics and bling in a wet environment...
My old girl already towed five boats this season with electronic issues... |

Sorry, late to the party. Most are right, you can't simply replace the keypad with the key. These boats run entirely off the PME (big black box under the dash by driver's feet). You would have to bypass that, which would then require you to re-wire lights, bilge, horn, blower, radio, ignition, and well...everything. You need to send your keypad to CC in Orlando and they will check it for you. I have their contact info if you'd like it you can email me and I'll help you get it down there. We sent our keypad down hoping it was the bad part....they tested and all was working perfectly. Turned out our PME was bad. It's one of two things, hope yours is the cheapest one

I have a 2001 Ski Nautique and the accessory keypad (right side) quit working last summer. I want to have it checked before I order a new one in case it is actually the PME box. Especially since nautiqueparts.com will not accept returns or refunds on keypads. Do you still have the contact info for the place that tested yours? Thanks!

Talk to the guys at White Lake Marine I think we sent them our pad, if they're not it they'll know who to send it to. It was them or the Nautique factory...the longer I type this the more I think it was actually Nautique but you can try both. |
