I asked him about that and he said that long ago he developed a system that works well for him.. it is basically .. "one for me two for them".. they guy is well on the way to being my hero.    Although well behind Reid's ratio at this point...

I think the main difference would be 1) the experience (not having to learn how to do everything) 2) a professional shop with all the correct tools and space. 3) possibly a few helping hands (paid help)when most needed.

All in all it's still a major task and he did a fantastic job. First rate work in every aspect.

I haven't been keeping exact hours on the Hurricane but I do know I've logged 60 days since flipping it over. That's basically one person so about 12 weeks if I worked 40 hours a week. Not bad progress and if you put a few guys on that time schedule you can accomplish an awful lot of work in a few months time.

I don't know either Alan, since that's his personal boat as Tim said. But no matter whether it's his own or a customers, that man is always on a mission. He's typically in the shop by 5am. A year ago, that boat had more ribs showing than Pete and I combined.

For anyone who may be interested, the recent (November/December) issue of Classic Boating has a 8 page article about Pat Crusse and his 54 Chris Commander "Classic Crusser"

Yep, 70.something WOT on GPS, and my AH is still puckered.
Yep, blew it sky-high, Matt driving, but not Matt's fault. Chevy was to blame for sure.
Or maybe is was the 6200rpm with just 15 lbs of oil pressure.
We were hoping to have it out there for the bash, but ran out of prep time. Seems it's got so much oil pressure now, it's blowing it out from everywhere. Don't ask please. We'll surely have it ready for the next outing.

I don't know if that boat came up in any conversations that weekend, but when Reid introduced us to his skiff a couple years ago, he said he had it up to 70, and if I recall, implied that that was not WOT. Of course that was right before he and Matt blew it up....which I think Reid still attributes to it being a Chevy.

Reid, I heard ya, I just thought it more appropriate to sacrifice Hollywood. I hope she doesn't read this thread or she's never going to acknowledge you. Maybe a little editing is in order?

I'm afraid you guys missed my point above. It would take Melissa, Shannon or Dana to do the sweet-talking in this case, unless that's what Hollywood was trying to say.

That was them Bruce, as they'd been talking to Laurie. And yes, that's an excellent idea, but it may take half the lobstas in Maine to keep her at bay!

Reid, when we came to visit you in the fall of '08, you stopped to talk to 2 older ladies in the road that were friendly and somehow knew we were having lobster for supper that night. If that was the same lady, next time I'd say you need to buy her off up front with a care package from up north.

OMG, I forgot about the Speed Skiff, as that thing really did light her up. Last year after running it, she drove down, came out on our dock and verbally blasted us to smithereens, and we hadn't even made it down to her house with it. It was just the noise apparently.

And Gary, indeed somewhat similar to Mrs Kravitz, but Gladys was married to a man.
(I hope that doesn't come back to haunt me, as she really has been a great neighbor aside from the boating scraps)

Let's hear that one.

I can answer that one in more detail: Our neighborhood watchdog, a fiesty 70yr old lady, who's normally a very dear friend, lives just 5 doors down further into the cove. She has always had a problem with boats coming into or down the cove at speed, esp louder ones, regardless of whether or not they infringe upon the 150' no-wake reg's. So just imagine us lining up 5-6 footers behind Eddie's BFN from the very head of the cove and pulling right by her house numerous times, and then there's my loud Mustang circling around, Keegan's equally loud red baron, and whatever else we were having fun with. Well she cruises by mid afternoon on her poontoon (sic) boat and proceeds to shriek directly at our dock with a ear-bleeding pitch,....."stay...out...of...the...cove!!" So we did,.....after Keegan innocently and unknowingly wrapped up.

Several days later I had to pull over on our narrow road so she could pass by, and she doesn't even acknowledge my presence. Once or twice a year maybe, we have something going on. She'll get over it.
