I tried to start boat last weekend and 40 amp circuit breaker kicked, and then no power. Reset breaker and same thing happened. I can reset breaker and all accessories work, but when I hit the ignition the breaker kicks. Replaced breaker today and still the same thing. Is this a starter issue?
Starter rebuilt last year and never gave me any problems. THANKS! |

I highly recommend you get the VOM out and start checking BEFORE you go and just throw parts at it. Disconnect loads until you find what's tripping the breaker and then Ohm the load to see if it's shunted to ground.
Why was the starter rebuilt? |
