Wht started almost a year ago as a little dripping, has become lately a stream of water leak.
It leak from the front shaft.
Yesterday I went out and upon return I removed the pump to fix it up.
pull it apart removed the snap ring and then started to pull the rubber seal, then the mechanic seal top broke in parts, then remove the mechanic seal and inspected it and seems to be fine, no visible holes in the rubber.
Thats as far as i could go. How i'm supposed to pull the shaft out of the body? which tool is adviced to do the job without breaking the bank and the pump body?

Bearing seems to be ok as the shaft turn freely and without any play or wooble...

I would change the bearing, if it got wet. Was there a spring in there? Have you ordered a new seal kit?

The spring has some rust but still there.
I will look for seal replacement locally or order one online.

got my parts yesterday, now going to the shop to work on the pump.
I´ve already cleaned the seat surface. The new seal need to be press fitted into the pump body. Any trick for that?
other tips I might need?

Push as close to the metal can O.D. as you can to avoid distorting it.

So, were you able to do it without a press? Was it tough to get the old one out?

The cup doesn't really take that much pressure. If you have a vise that opens up enough, it will work too.

The old metal cap went off with a screwdriver, pretty much useless now...

"Ready to receive some hammer whacks" That's a description I'd apply to some co-workers
