Im having a hard time finding a decent mechanic to help with my 79 ski nautique. Can't get it to start, already wasted a solid thousand buying parts and still nothing, so far it's been 2.5 months. I'm going crazy! Just want to take her out before summer is over. Any mechanic recommendations? I'm nearest to San Luis obispo, central coast of California.

Isaac,
What parts have you put into the engine so far?

Hey there,
so far Ive put in:
1. a new starter (RH rotation) after first buying the wrong one...
2. new cap, rotor, points, cables, condensor.
3. changed oil.
4. gone through 3 (not good) mechanics.

Have you been testing like Chris mentioned? Timing and dwell set?
