The new prop is much larger than the original one I had on my boat. Has anyone noticed how close the prop sits to the guard rail on the bottom. Has anyone had any problems with the prop hitting the guard?

As long as the prop clears, you're fine.

Did you lap the prop on? Proper prop installation

I have a feeling they didn't lap it on but rather just torqued the s**t out of it! I haven't gotten an Acme in a couple years but they all used to come with a lapping recommendation sheet in the box. But, we do know a prop shop isn't going to read anything concerning how to install a prop!

I'd take it off & check the ID for signs of being lapped.   Or call them.   I skipped this step & the prop came loose. Don't take the chance!

Clearance is Clearance and there is no way the prop is going to come in contact with the trailer. 1/2" or 3" it's still not going to hit it.
