I'm in need of a prop puller. What's the thought on the best source/pricing?
Thanks, Ultra |

If you have access to a machine shop I´d recommend fabricating a puller like this one...It works much better than the C style puller as it pulls from 3 points rather than one in the C style.
I´ve used both and a properly seated prop can be a challenge with the C puller. the rod puller works like a charm, a couple of turns and prop pop right out... |

I think Eric can hook you up with a nice one similar to mine that can also undo shaft couplers...

Thats a nice puller. My father in law was a machinist and if he was still alive I would have one of these. He did make some pullers similar to this mainly for pulleys and such.
Do you have any specs on that puller? I could probably get someone locally to fabricate it. |

Here's the one I made several years ago. Since I've been the route of the "C" clamp style not being the greatest on tough props, I went all the way with 360 degree contact on the complete prop hub. Actually, I've never seen a good C clamp style!!!
You'll also notice it will work on a 3 or 4 blade prop. |

A three arm pully puller from NAPA works great also.

Yes, they work on older cast props but somtimes due to the thickness and shape of the arms, they will not get past the larger blades of a CNC prop. |

Allen,
No, I had not planned on making anymore pullers. I've got too much going on now and just do not have the time. |

The C pullers are easier to use, but you can buy the other type as well.
