Hook up the hose to the RWP suction side of the trans cooler hose and crank it over!

Besides that, there are several threads on making an easy hose hook up point.

May want to do a search as there are multiple ways to do it.
For quick, right now, the easiest way would be to disconect the raw water intake hose from the brass thru hull, elbow, fitting on the port side of the hull (somewhere near the rear of the engine and the trans).
Run your garden hose into that hose and clamp is down securly. Make sure you have constant and steady water supply (sturdy, un kinked hose!)
Turn on the water (or get someone elso to) and verify you have water flow (through the clear strainer...if so equipped) and crank her up. Check water pressure quage to verify PSI. Do not put the boat in gear. The prop shaft must have water lubricating the cutlass bearing located in the strut. Just run her in neutral. Water should be flowing out of the exhaust. Always monitor PSI and engine temp and water supply.

I usually start mine as described above. But this will not check to see if the raw water pump is working correctly because water is being forced thru the cooling system. If you want to check the pump, fill a large container with water and run a hose from the pump pickup into the water. This will make the pump do the work. (keep running the garden hose into the container)
