Took my two year old daughter to the Home Depot today. Always a challenge, but I wanted to give her mother a morning off.

Had to pick up a few items: Lumber for new bunks on the trailer, new galvanized bolts, some wood glue, acetone - no big deal.

So I'm in the hardware section counting out the bolts, back to my daughter. When I got through three or four bags with no sound out of her, I thought that was kind of odd, and I turned around to look.

Seems she thought the wood glue was lotion. Had poured it on both legs and was busy wiping it in.

That will be one I'm telling when she's in her twenties.

You will probably wish her legs were glued together by then. I have 2 and 4 year old girls. I am very afraid of them growing up.

As pete would recommend "epoxy" it bonds better,
you have to prime them early, no such thing as doing homework in the bedroom with the door closed. your story really does remind me of a couple of Chicago boys on a Saturday morning asking themselves "what happened"?

Sounds like she is practicing for waxings at the spa with Mrs BKH, hahaha.

You can laugh now, right? It is pretty funny. Just not at that exact second...

That's exactly why I started stocking up on shotgun shells a few years back. I may not win the battle but at least I'll beat 'em back. (I'm speaking of the boys of course!)

I'm pretty happy I'm past the stage of stocking up on the shotgun shells!! I'm also lucky to have a 21 year old daughter with a very good "head on her shoulders". She has been seeing or getting very serious with a gentleman she knows from up north at our second home. The wife and I know and socialize with this guys parents and the whole situation is cool. Yes, there was a time that I would have loved to get the shotgun out but left her handle it herself. Most do eventually come around and have to learn the hard way but thats best for their own education.

Brian,
You've got a few more years to get a good nights rest until it starts but I feel it's just something every parent has to go through.

How the "H" did this go from glue all over to keeping a daughter "safe"!!!!
Brian see you in GL - always a pleasure seeing you.

LOL Pete. By the time my daughter reaches dating age, I will be so old that the challenge will be staying awake, not sleeping.

Just a few days till the big party.

Thats funny Brian...ENJOY her now!

Our baby is turning 27 in a few weeks and been married almost 4 years... she went to school in Milwaukee and never came back home     When her "now husband" started coming up more frequently in conversations and things were getting serious, I can remember asking her if she had told him yet about her "dad's alcohol and gun problem"?!

BTW, They are planning to bring their 1960, 14 foot Crownline, they just got running, up to Green Lake on Sunday and Monday with us!

Do you really need the shotgun shells? I heard it is enough just to happen to be cleaning the gun when a perspective date shows up.

I always liked the line, "Boy I have a shotgun and a shovel and no one is going to miss you" until your smart ass like me and say funny enough I have both of those as well... I keep telling my wife when we have kids, the good lord is going to repay me for all the thing I did with a daughter.

BKH the glue story is to funny.
