Afternoon all! If anyone rembers the story from my last post (87 nautique story time) I have decided to heed all the advice and pass on the old boat. Engine repair is one thing, floors a totally different ball of wood .
Any how I've found a local '93 with around 700hr on it. Looks taken care of from pic. Other than Vinyl needs cleaning looks good from pic. These should be totally composite stringers correct? It has the ford 351 in it so that should be a solid power plant. Anything glaring that I should be on look out for. I can test the boat on water. I've enjoyed reading and learning from this site even though haven't posted in a while. Thanks fellas |

Post some pics up if you can. And yes, 93 was the first year for composite stringers.

Gary, Thanks but trust me, it worked when I tested it! After the day I was in a rush, posted a bad link and then Larry worked me over, I make an extra extra effort to test them! |

Boat has either been painted or wrapped most likely as those are not original gel patterns for that boat, graphics are wrong also, from an 05' era boat. Notice the purple interior, the hull was likely purple as well and somebody probably did not ;like that color.
One thing to beware of, if boat has Pro Boss motor and still has Protech ignition, you will know if the motor has a conventional distributor vs a trigger wheel distributor and coil pack combination. Protech is a know bad part, if still there figure $500 in parts to replace when Protech goes bad. Otherwise 93' is a great year and hull ski nautique, all composite construction and a very nice slalom wake. Be willing to bet this is what that boat looked like and may look like under paint or wrap: |

looks like a decent find. make sure you check the hull number, you can tell if it is truly a 93, or maybe a late 92. I can't tell the difference, but you would want to be sure since the stringers were wood in 92, but not in 93. The hulls looked very similar, so you may not be able to tell without an educated eye. There are some HIN decoding posts here that can help you to know for sure.

yep...looks good inside..TOTALLY wrong outside. Looks like a paint job to me.. Otherwise, the Gel Coat would match the interior upholstery stripes, as Quinner's photo shows. I'd ask them why they painted it?

WOW that purple and black boat is damn sexy!!!
Boat mentioned is definitely a '93. Pylon and bow light states it and 1993 was first year Correct Craft ever used purple. Pro Tex can last longer than many here say but either way no biggie. I'm willing to bet it's painted. For some reason men are afraid of a purple boat. That boat warrants a look and test drive but not certain I'd call it a good deal. Here in Orlando a 93 popped up yesterday for similar money but kept original. |

Wow! That's why I ask it here. Know way I would've ever known that. Is the color thing something to be "weary" of? I like the red and the updated stickers but don't want it to be a problem later. I would've never thought about it being wrapped or repainted. You guys are good

Bazinga!!!!! A buddy of mine who lives on the same lake as this owner just came and talked to me about this boat. Said the owner bought a newer boat and is selling this one. Private ski lake and he said the boat runs great and is clean. The guy hated the original purple scheme and had it painted or re-gelled to get rid of the purple. Went with Red/black as the guy is a UGA fan. I ski regularly behind Jimsport93's boat a lot and can vouch for the nice slalom wake behind a 93. Might be worth a looksie taking this info with you to ask the seller. |

I have to admit that I like the red and graphics better than the purple. I'm not Dawg fan but like the red |

Corey, the 93' that is listed in the CL ad. The purple boat above is what THAT boat would have originally looked like. Find out from the seller if it was painted Red and Black or was it gelled.

According to the email I received from the owner this morning, it is NOT the Protech and it was re-gelled in 2005.
I too have skied on that lake back in the 80's, nice little lake. |

Timbob, Jimmy's boat is a Sport so the ski wake will be even better on a Ski.
Jeffro, did he say Protech has been changed out or it does not have the ProBoss motor?? Gary, for sure determine if the color change was done in Gel or Paint, really needs a new interior though to get a color match going and it looks like the observer seat may have some issues, that could easily cost you $3,000.00. Graphics on one side are missing a letter, personally I would eliminate those graphics altogether or go back to something more like original |

All Team Red girls are natural red heads------ Seems strange to me that if you don't like purple that the parts you always see were left purple. Guess it was more important how it looked on the lift |

Here is what he said in the email: "No. Standard Pleasure Craft (Ford 351) 791 hours. Carborated, Holly 4 brl. The boat was re-gelcoated in 2005. It went from purple to black." |

Then it probably has the standard 351 w/240HP not the Proboss with 300hp, in 93' both those motors had carbs.

You guys are great. We're not competition skiers or even close. I'm really just tying to get into a quality boat for the family (5 and an 8 year old) that the kids can enjoy for a while to come. I want it to run when we get to the lake and have a great day while out. Smaller cosmetics I can deal with like the decals and stuff. Would like the interior to match but can be dealt with. I assume the "re-gel" is a lot better than a paint job? Don't need to worry about any of that stuff either.

Don't assume anything. Like I said before why go thru the expense of "regelling" and then leaving the interior?? Something is up. Go look at it but leave the rose colored glasses at home

Gary, will you guys be trailer boaters or will you have a home dock??
Not sure if you can swing a few more bucks but a 99' sport will have a very comparable slalom wake to the 93' yet offer quite a bit more seating, space and storage then the 93'. You give up a little of the "sports car" tracking/handling but it does not sound like you will be running the slalom course so that should not matter. Saw this 99' Sport in the diaries, looks like a nice boat. http://www.correctcraftfan.com/forsale/details.asp?ID=9482 |
