Does anyone have a good contact for gelcoat color matching other than spectrum color. They will only custom match in gallons. Much to much and to much money.
Also, who to contact for the color codes for the strips on a 2001 natique |

Mini Craft of Florida
If they don't have the color code on file, they charge a $75 fee. A sample color is needed. They do have quarts. |

Jeff,
What color are you looking for? I just had seven gallons of Ivory Taffy matched. |

I just got some from minicraft,it's up to 125 a quart now,I swear it was 75 last year,I wish they had pints. I got their color wheel and with their tints was able to get a decent match for a 40 year old boat. |

Gary, What were you matching? I'm going to need to do some work to my Skier and need to match the blue gel. I'm guessing yours is pretty close to mine!
Sorry for the thread jack Jeff |

I feel that repairing gel coat is kind of like other finishing work in that if you did the job you can spot the flaws, but nobody else will notice them after a good wetsand, buff and wax.

Where did you get your gel from Keegan. How much did you buy? Cost? How did you match colors

I contacted Correct Craft directly and got the color code from them. Then I ordered a quart of gelcoat from Spectrum Color... I did not have to order a gallon. |

Thanks Kristoff. I will try CC.
BJ, I got your email. I am not even sure that my color is Ivory Taffy. My hull looks darker than yours. But when I look at the color chart in the reference section, the next closest color is the cream brown which looks very dark?? I think all I need is a quart. I have about 15 little beer dings that need to be patched. |

BJ, you are correct. I wrote to CC and got a reply on my serial number. They said it was creme brown.
So do I need to send a small sample of my gel coat to Fiberglass coatings? |

BJ,
I need about a pint to fix some small places and mine is Ivory Taffy. This is only if you have some to spare. I also want to send you some pictures of my steering wheel that you helped me with at the SJRR. tilley166 at bellsouth.net Thanks, Donald |

I used the evercoat tubed stuff. It cures hard not tacky. I squeezed out the entire tube, color matched it, and mixed it up in a tupperware for storage. Then I added the catalyst to small amounts as needed to fill the holes and dings in a seperate small container. That way the rest of the batch is still usable. Not sure how long it will stay good but its been a month and it is still fine. Cannot remember how much it cost but it was not much and went a long way. I got it at my local boat shop and paid a little more. There are some good deals on ebay if you can wait for it. ![]() |
