I have seen King Plastic's Starboard product. My uncle used that to replaced the wood floor on 31 Beltram. Great stuff.

You're so right Kyle! It's way too quiet on this thread these days... ![]() |

Sorry guys,we suffered a natural disaster here in the form of a ice storm that knocked out power for almost two weeks and ruined every tree, power line for nine counties. In fact alot still don't have power.I lost a full grown magnolia, weeping willow and three massive elms.people act pretty crazy in a disaster so its been a challenge just getting the basic necessities.
Crazy people sleeping in there cars only to be found dead from carbon monoxide. Stores letting in small groups at a time. gas lines half a mile long at the stations with generators. |

My neighborhood was built from 1929 to 1940 and houses averaged six trees per yard. The only trimming they ever got was from the tower on my boat

Ryan,
Sorry to hear it. I was wondering how you did going through the storm down south. Up in NE OK we didn't get the ice too bad. Hope you get everything put back together and you're able to get back on track. |

Definitely an awesome job so far! Reading this thread sort-of makes me want to do the same thing. I would love to have the room for ballast without sacs on the floor! I definitely want to know how the wake turns out for wakesurfing!

Talking about wake, has anybody had any experience with this product: SwitcheBlade. It looks like a pretty neat product, similar to the Wedge but you can adjust the pitch with the controller. Is pricey but it does a little bit more than your typical ballast.

That looks pretty crazy. Looks like it would cost a little more if you ding that up then dinging up a prop on a stump!
It looks like a good idea. It pretty much does the same thing an I/O drive does where you can change the pitch of the boat. It is like putting your boat on an air chair! |

Why don't you just drag your anchor?

that's funny! ![]() I wonder how it affects steering. Seems like it would fight your rudder and try to keep the boat from turning. |

Probably not at all. The "blade" is free to rotate side to side, so it would act like a dolly wheel and just twist and turn to follow the boat's path. The two control arms just adjust the angle of the pivot axis, which will change the angle of the blade. Now as for backing up...I'm sure it's screws with you there as it would swing to one side and just stay there. |

They have a video on their website and claim you can adjust it to help you steer in reverse.

I'm telling you from experience that this sort of devices dont always have good efects on the wake shape.
On the Malibu boats, not all owners end up using the Wedge. It's supposed to affect the wake as if yo added 2000lbs on the very back of the boat, you need to keep in mind that you need to compensate this weight up front or you end up with a very vertical and even messy wake. |

True, but the another neat thing thing is that you can adjust the pitch, changing the wake shape. I bet somebody will try it.

I've been a long time Nautique fan, and happen to be out in Altus, OK. I would love to come by your shop and see this project in person if you would be alright with that.

So does anybody think we'll see another update as to where this project ended up? Kinda strange to be kept in the dark after so much progress early on.

I've been wondering where Ryan is as well. I'll bet he got that thing all dialed in and is out on the lake now that it's getting nice out.
