how much gel coat did you use to cover your engine bay area?

I didn't...that comes this winter. I used bilgekote to get me on the water this year. It's a pretty decent product and should have 2 more coats, but I'm only gonna sand it out over the winter. If you're asking how much gel to get to do your bilge area, I'd guess a quart would do it; depending on how it's applied. I used a Preval sprayer which is slow and doesn't produce the best finish(more wet sanding), but it doesn't waste much or have a lot of overspray. |

The wind must be blowing down out of Ohio today 'cause I'd swear I could hear Eric laughing!
![]() I spent half a day aligning it, but that's only part of the story. When I set the pumpkin in its patch last night I wasn't sure the dirt was deep enough. That made for a long night wondering about it! LOL |

New floor, old panels...I will recarpet them but wanted to see them fit.
![]() What's underneath... ![]() Some handy wrenches I got from the Doc... ![]() The throttle bracket extension isn't original, but the idea did come from CCFan(TRBenj) and it is an authentic CC part from a '79 SN! ![]() ![]() I don't know yet if the doghouse will fit. I do know it will be close...the front of the flame arrestor is just higher than the risers. I'll see about that when I get the fly out of the ointment?!!? ![]() |

Thanks Chris, that's a nice thing to say. We had a super weekend burning gas. LOL
Here's a couple of things I've noticed since she got wet again and that go back to some discussions earlier in this thread. For one, I'm really glad I kept the RH rotation. It's been riding nice and flat with different #'s of people on board and with just me. The only time it doesn't stay flat is on hard acceleration out of the hole...then it torques back over to port a little, gotta love it! I was also concerned about weight; how much I added vs. how much I took out. The new water line is about a half inch lower than the old, meaning it's floating higher. ![]() |

Greg she looks beautiful I have followed since Feb when u started. I love my boat but with the nephews getting bigger we will be going to an open bow probably in 3 yrs so I dont know what I want to start with plus the pops says just run it and dont worry kind of thing. I love my toys and always have to do something to them. You got to show us some pics of her wake since she rides higher in the water what the table looks behind the boat for footing and boarding.

Greg,
is that your original interior. Mine is close to that but more of a lighter grey base adn a lighter blue outer strip. I like yours! shawn |

No, it was redone a few years ago. That was sunbrella's best match from the samples I had to look at. I do think I remember wanting it a bit brighter. |

Greg, congrats on a job well done man. I know your glad to get that baby back out where she belongs.
Hows the lake level now? By your pics looks like it's still down a bit. FWIW, when Murray was down for the damn rebuild (about 5 plus yrs) the bonus was very little traffic. Now that we finally got "full pond" it's hard to get any decent water after 10 am. Last question.... what are you going to do to replace my morning coffee read.. looks like the patch has been weeded! Great Job! d |

Greg, I had serious doubts that you'd get the BFN back on the water this summer. I grossly under-estimated you and for that I must apologize. Fantastic job! Break 'er in right!

We're down just over 14' and it's the same story here. With gas up and the lake down, traffic is super light. We've had several incidents where people new to boating or to this lake have kissed the bottom. There's a shallow water marker that has been run over and replaced twice since last weekend when Skicat pointed it out?!!? That buoy may end up on a milk carton!
The patch is indeed free of weeds, but I have 8 miles of little things to do over the next year or two. Plus we have JoeinNY and Big Pappa and others in the same 'boat'. With so many who love these boats, I'm sure we'll have others to follow! |

LMAO! I have a new wife to keep happy?!!? The beauty of that though, is she likes being on the water as much as I do. Besides, I couldn't let a boat half my age whip me in my own garage! ![]() I have ~3.5 hours on it now. I followed Alan's proceedure on the cam break-in, and Chris' on seating the rings. At what point is it considered broken in? I was thinking of dusting off the board today and pulling a few friends who've gotten a peek under the doghouse unless someone says it's way too early. |
