I have a chance at getting a nice ford 351w for short money. But right now it's attached to a mercruiser out drive. Can this be taken out of his boat and hooked up in my '88 sn?

no, its a normal rotation engine, the one you needs spins right handed and the merc spins left unless you want to change your prop, which if you look around you'll find another thread on engine rotations and there effects
