What is the proper way to check transmission fluid level. Should the transmission be hot, change from forward to reverse and vice versa, or should the transmission be cool. Thanks in advance.

By the way, I have a 1993 ski nautique with a PCM transmission.

Transmissions should be hot motor off and they suggest checking it when the boats in water.
