Will a 13x13L prop work on a 68 barracuda 318? It had a 12x13L on it, was this what came on the boat when it was new?( called CC in orlando but no one knows) The 12x13L is now bent via night cruise. Found 13x13L at the prop shop new rebuilt with cup for $75 made in Grand Rapids, mich. Can I use this prop or is it too big? Boat is in boathouse at lake so I cannot measure it to see if i have the 15% clearance.
Thanks in advance for any info.
Bob

It should work but it's not so much dia and pitch put more so what rpm are you turning with your currect set-up. a 13 inch diameter shouldn't be an issue on your boat but to really get the most performance we would need to know the RPM you are getting at WOT and how you use the boat, sking, wakeboarding cruising. I would say buy it but give the fans a little more info and yo might be supressed what your boat will do.

Tack hasn't worked in years. Boat runs like a top. I just cruise in this boat to the sound of that dual exhaust.

The '65 Barracuda that I recently aquired has 13 x 13 Federal cupped prop. I've only had the boat out twice but it works very well. Runs a confirmed 45 mph, (indicated 48).

Cruises well at an indicated 28, the engine is just loafing (318 chrysler) I couldn't tell you what the rpms are the tach is not accurate, shows under 4000 rpm at 45 mph.

If your just cruising using a higher pitch will get you a little better fuel comsumption.
