The OEM is Attwood. Here is one similiar, but rated at 30lbs. SL31-30-5 this would have the same physical characteristics, but a bit stronger than original.

Here is the part as listed on Attwood's website SL31-20-1 I believe the "1" on the end of the part number just means bulk packaging, whereas a "5" might mean single packaging.

Note that a Attwood SS31-20-1 (or SS31-20-5) is the same spring in stainless steel construction.

Doing a quick Google, I found the SL31-20-5 (remember to use the "5" instead of "1" for single, aftermarket, packaging) at Camden Boat Store

Good luck.

All the ones I've visited so far carry the StrongArm brand rather than SpringLift brand and don't have listings for anything as short as the SL31-20-1, which BTW, is 7.5" extended, 5.5" compressed and will support 20 lbs.

Go to the auto parts store and see if you can match one up. Go to one of the larger chain type stores.

Thanks for this forum! 3rd time CC owner here. 1964 CC American Skier "Happy Daze", 87 Nautique "Corrective Action", 97 Nautique "ILTB".

Anyone got a source other than CC for the 1997 glove box springlift piston? Model number is SL31-20-1.
