I am looking to purchase a used nautique and would like to know how to inspect for rotten stringers.I can handle the mechanical but the structural aspects I am not familiar with.I want a boat in the early to mid 80's thats ready to put in the water.

Welcome Tom. You've found the right place. Search on floor rot or stringers and you'll probably find some topics discussing what you're looking for.
First thing is to walk on the floor and see if it's soft anywhere. Next test is to turn the bolts on the motor mount and see if they spin or bite. Others may have more advice for you. A mid 80s boat is a great one. You'll love her! |
